NEW YORK (CBS) Her ready-to-wear collection is already a hit with A-listers, but will Victoria Beckham's new line of handbags be equally appreciated?

The former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer sure believes so. In fact, Beckham believes her new everyday bag, which was unveiled at her Spring 2011 runway show at New York Fashion Week, will rival those of luxury label Hermes.

While at the presentation, she was overheard saying, "A Beckham can replace your Birkin," according to Instyle magazine.

Her stylish "Victoria" satchel was featured on the runway in a mixture of colors. The 36-year-old also debuted a travel bag, which she said she designed with husband, David Beckham, in mind.

Marketing efforts for her new handbags have already kick-started.  Along with being featured in the October issue of American Vogue, Beckham has been a walking advertisement and was seen sporting her eponymous satchel around New York City earlier this week.
