Cops: Florida woman stole bagel truck, took 3-county joyride

DELTONA, Fla. -- A woman allegedly stole a bagel delivery truck that was parked at an Orlando gas station and led police in a pursuit through three counties, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said Ashley Goldson stole the truck, which is owned by Bagel King in Orlando, at around 2:15 a.m., from a RaceTrac gas station. A deputy in an unmarked vehicle soon spotted the truck driving on I-4 and followed, joined by several marked cruisers who trailed from a distance, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

The bagel truck was driven through Seminole and Volusia counties, where other law enforcement agencies assisted, deputies said.

In Deltona, Florida, the truck exited the highway, and deputies forced it to stop using a "tactical" maneuver, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

A K-9 unit helped apprehend Goldson, who was taken to the Volusia County Jail, deputies said. Goldson is being held on charges of grand theft and introducing contraband into a detention facility.

No one was injured, and there was no damage to any vehicle, deputies said.
