Arnold Schwarzenegger to play cartoon superhero
(CBS) Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a bodybuilder, an actor, a politician and now he's set to become a cartoon superhero: The Governator.
Schwarzenegger will star in the animated TV show in comic book, being co-developed by "Spider-man" co-creator Stan Lee, Entertainment Weekly reports.Pictures: Arnold Schwarzenegger
"When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about 'the Governator,' I thought the word was so cool," the former California governor, 63, told EW. "The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies."
The character will incorporate parts of Schwarzenegger's real life character, with added super powers, according to the report. The series and comic book won't be out until next year.
"We're using all the personal elements of Arnold's life." Lee told the magazine. "We're using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We're using his kids. We're using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor's office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood."
The Governator will be fully equipped with super vehicles, "Super Suits" and a team of sidekicks, such as Zeke Muckerberg, the 13-year-old computer whiz who acts as his cycbersecurity expert. The Governator will also be fighting the Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons (or G.I.R.L.I.E. Men, for short).
The new superhero can be seen on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, on stands this Friday.
