Andrew Bullock, Pa. teen, charged in rape, beating of nun

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. - An 18-year-old man is in custody after police say he beat and raped a retired nun in the parking lot of a Pennsylvania church.

 

CBS Pittsburgh reports Andrew Bullock faces at least 10 charges, including rape and aggravated assault, in the Friday morning attack in Aliquippa.

           

The victim was reportedly walking in the parking lot behind the church when Bullock allegedly approached her choked her, punched her, pushed her to the ground then assaulted and raped her.

 

Investigators say Bullock's boots matched a footprint in the snow from the scene.

           

The alleged victim, who is reportedly in her 70’s, underwent surgery for a serious jaw injury at a Pittsburgh hospital. She's a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden who released a statement Saturday saying,“The Sisters of St. Joseph are deeply saddened and heart-broken by the assault of one of our Sisters. Through God’s grace and goodness, Sister is expected to be released from the hospital today.”

 

Court records do not list an attorney for Bullock.
