(CBS/KUTV/AP) Keith Brown, the father of the well-known classical piano group the 5 Browns, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his daughters today in Provo.

Brown arrived to answer to charges of first-degree felony count of sodomy on a child and two second-degree felony counts of sexual abuse of a child, reports CBS affiliate KUTV.

Brown arrived in court with cuts on his face from a car accident in Little Cottonwood Canyon just days before his initial appearance.

His response to the judge who asked for his plea on each charge was a barely audible, "guilty."

Court records show Utah County prosecutors charged Brown with one first-degree felony count of sodomy on a child and two second-degree felony counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Brown did not speak further during the hearing.

The daughters now range in age between 26 and 32, but the abuse occurred between 1990 and 1992, and for a year in the late 90s, reports KUTV.

At one time, the Juilliard-trained virtuosos and their dad had family and business connections.

"Their father was their manager, until they severed that relationship in 2008," said Thomson.

The attorney for Keith Brown said he would not comment until after Brown's first court appearance, which is scheduled for Thursday morning. Brown is apparently well enough to attend, after a car accident late Valentine's Day, in which the vehicle he drove plunged off the road in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The crash sent Brown and his wife to the hospital.

Brown could face a sentence of up to life in prison on the first-degree felony and up to 15 years each on the second-degree felonies.
