2 arrests after gruesome murder of Detroit woman

DETROIT -- Police have made two arrests in the gruesome murder of a 20-year-old woman whose dismembered body was found inside a burning van on Detroit's west side, reports CBS Detroit.

The names of the two suspects and possible charges have not been released, reports the station. The arrests were made Tuesday night, nearly two weeks after firefighters discovered the body of Rhonda Davis.

Davis was last seen in her 2002 silver Plymouth Voyager April 3, and authorities believe her killer was behind the wheel, reports the station. Investigators say she had been shot several times, and her arms and legs had been removed. Authorities needed to use dental records to identify her burned remains.

Davis previously spent time in the Oakland County Jail for armed robbery, reports the station, a crime her family says she was falsely accused of.

Police are still in search of a third suspect -- 24-year-old Brandon Curtis Williams.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
