2 arrested in murder of UCLA student found in burning apartment

LOS ANGELES -- Police have arrested two men in connection with the death of a University of California, Los Angeles student who was found Sept. 21 inside a burning off-campus apartment, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Alberto Medina and Eric Marquez are suspected of murder in the death of Andrea DelVesco, 21, whose body was discovered on the first day of the semester.

The cause of her death has not been released.

Authorities said DelVesco was entering her senior year at UCLA, studying psychology and Spanish. At the time of her death, DelVesco was facing drug-related charges.

On July 8, she pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing Ecstasy, LSD, methamphetamine and Psilocybin, officers said.

Medina, a student at Fresno State University, is being held without bail, and Marquez, a fifth-year biology student at UCLA, is being held on $1 million bond.

Police have not said if they've determined a motive for the murder.
