2 arrested in Mexico in connection to Kansas triple slaying

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says two suspects have been arrested in the October deaths of three people in central Kansas.

The KBI announced Friday that Mexican authorities arrested 35-year-old Jereme Lee Nelson and 31-year-old Myrta Rangel Thursday evening. They were returned to the U.S. and are held in the San Diego County Jail.   An extradition hearing was scheduled later Friday.

The Witchita Eagle reports that Nelson and Rangel had been wanted on capital murder and three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 33-year-old Travis Street, 37-year-old Angela May Graevs, and 52-year-old Richard Prouty. According to the paper, their bodies were found on October 30, 2016 outside the rural home where Street and Graevs lived with their 18-month-old son.

The toddler was reportedly found crying and screaming inside the home, but was otherwise unharmed.
