Caught on Tape: Woman's Brush With Death on Boston Train Tracks, Driver Charice Lewis Hailed as Hero

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) A Boston woman who fell onto train tracks is lucky to be alive, and two transit workers have been honored for keeping her out of harm's way.
The woman, whose name was not released, toppled onto the tracks just before a subway car pulled into the station -- somehow screeching to a halt, without running her over.
Charice Lewis got a radio call from fellow Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority employee Jacqueline Osorio, who was standing on the platform at North Station on Friday night when she saw the woman, who told authorities that she had been drinking, tumble onto the tracks.
Lewis, who saw passengers on the platform frantically waving their arms, immediately tugged the emergency brake.
The woman on the tracks suffered some scrapes and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Lewis and Osorio were recognized by state Transportation Secretary Jeffrey Mullan on Monday and received a call of congratulations from Gov. Deval Patrick.
