Tom DeLay: Retired Dancer, Birther Ally

Former House majority leader Tom Delay, who last night dropped out of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," has once again expressed skepticism that President Obama is a citizen of the United States.

That aligns DeLay, a Republican once known as "The Hammer," with the so-called "birther" movement. The birthers' claims have repeatedly been shown to be illegitimate.

Newsweek noted in an interview with DeLay that he "got into some trouble for saying on TV that you weren't sure President Obama was born in the United States."

"What I said was, to answer a question from Chris Matthews, I said: Why wouldn't the president of the United States show the American people his birth certificate?," DeLay responded. "You have to show a birth certificate to play Little League baseball. It's a question that should be answered. It's in the Constitution that you have to be a natural-born citizen of the United States to be president."

Asked Newsweek: "Do you think he isn't a citizen?"

"I have no idea," said DeLay.

The Obama campaign released Mr. Obama's Certificate of Live Birth during the presidential campaign. The president's original birth certificate was not released by the state of Hawaii because state law prohibits doing so except under extenuating circumstances; Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, has said she has seen it and that it verifies Mr. Obama's birth and citizenship.

As a State Department of Health spokeswoman pointed out, a Certification of Live Birth "is considered a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii."

?The birthers' claims have repeatedly been shown to be illegitimate.? How so? Just because the author says so? It has been very difficult for ?birthers? to claim anything; they can only speculate, because all the factual evidence, the actual documentary evidence has been intentionally concealed. There has never been a release of a copy of the original birth certificate which is the only primary document that should matter, containing the name of the hospital and the signature of the attending physician. We are told that it exists, but we just can?t see it. Why? Because Obama refuses to release it. We don?t know under which passport he traveled to Pakistan when he was nineteen. Why? Because Obama refuses to release the passport information. We don?t know whether Obama registered at Occidental College as a foreign student, though we suspect it. Why? Because Obama has had the records sealed. These are just a few of many examples. At every turn it has been found that Obama?s records have either been mysteriously lost, hidden, or sealed by court order. And you wonder why ?birthers? are suspicious? Ha!

Delay is entitled to his own facts & opinions but one thing is for sure when 2012 does finally arrive and if Obama still has not produced a lousy birth certificate then it will be an issue to voters but for now he is still our good ole fraud in chief until proven otherwise.

Welcome to America! Please allow me to explain a few things to you since you seem to be from another political and/or legal system: Barack Obama was elected by the majority of voters, the Electoral College and confirmed by Congress. He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He is therefore President of the United States and Commander in Chief. To say that he is the fraud in chief because you can't handle this reality demonstrates nothing other than the fact that you have no respect for the rule of law and American jurisprudence. This is the United States of America. Obama does not have to prove his innocence here or continue to respond to questions that have been answered just because a bunch of sore losers can't handle reality.

Watch closely, as each state vote is counted and following the report Vice President Cheney failed to call for objections as the statute requires.

(See the You Tube video of the 2009 electoral vote count at about the 27:00 minute mark.)

http://www.gpoaccess.gov/uscode/
http://frwebgate5.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/TEXTgate.cgi?WAISdocID=717860373874+0+1+0&WAISaction=retrieve

Under 3 U.S.C. § 15, Congress is directed to be in session on the appropriate date to count the electoral votes for President, with the President of the Senate presiding. The statute further directs that the electoral votes be counted, and then the results be presented to the President of the Senate, who shall then ?announce the state of the vote.? Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any. ...

The elected government failed to properly represent the citizens of the USA, during the counting of the electoral vote, therefore we have standing to demand a trial.

All Obama has to do to quell the birthers is SHOW the birth certificate. What some people forget is that one of the first requirements of the presidency is to be an American citizen. So why does he remain silent on the issue. By the way, I am not in the birther group, but it seems like a relatively easy thing to produce. Most of us had to produce it several times in our lives,. why can't he? why won't he? All that does is add fuel to the birther fire. Look it up , not a single verified, certified copy has been shown yet.

Anyone that is still a "birther" is either stupid beyond all belief or a person that has no respect for facts, the American Constitution, and is basically a traitor that should be shot out of hand. DeLay is a good place to start.

It's too bad he's off the show.

Cheryl Burke is SMOKIN' HOT, and she's the ONLY reason I watched the show.

I, myself, think that Alex and Max are HOT. : )

I do like Cheryl, but I'm glad that Tom Delay is gone.

LOOOOOVE Donny. : )

From Wikipedia...."According to ABC's 20/20 television program, Abramoff lobbied DeLay to stop legislation banning sex shops and sweatshops that forced employees to have abortions in the Northern Mariana Islands when Abramoff accompanied DeLay on a 1997 trip to the U.S. commonwealth. While on the trip, DeLay promised not to put the bill on the legislative calendar."

Niiiiiice.

I never thought I would agree with Tom Delay. Anyone who doesn't want to see the President's birth certificate doesn't agree with our constitution. THat mentality will be the fall of the Republic!

Delay comes across as effeminate, even when he's not dancing. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But to call this guy 'The Hammer' is an affront to the real, one and only, Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson.

Delay had his resurgence, looked like a fool, and embarrassed poor Cheryl Burke. Now please, just move on.

Maybe "The Hammer" has nothing to do with Washington but to do with his personal life, he did have mostly MALE staffers.

I think Larry Craig was heartbroken when he left the show.

You probably want a gold-engraved copy of one to hang on your wall--admit it.
by sail1993 October 8, 2009 2:02 PM EDT
1)Hawaii has two certificates. A "Certification of Live Birth" and "Certificate of Live Birth". Obama released the former.
2) A "Certification of Live Birth" can be obtained by people not born in Hawaii if their parents claim to have lived there for a year prior to the birth.
3) President Obama traveled abroad as an adult on an Indonesian passport.

The above three "facts" are disturbing. For twelve bucks, the cost of a "Certificate of Live Birth", this entire issue could be put to rest. The million dollar question is why prolong this. Cripes, I'll lend him the twelve bucks if he needs it.

I quite certain that the 9/11 truthers are all liberals since they lay the blame on republican administrations for the 9/11 attacks.
