Obama Green Jobs Adviser Under Fire for 9/11 Petition

President Obama's green jobs adviser Van Jones is once again apologizing for past foibles.

Jones, who serves as Special Adviser for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, released a statement addressing a a six-year-old petition Jones signed, alleging government complicity in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The Hotsheet received the following statement, which was first released Thursday night, from Jones' office:

"In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize. As for the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.

My work at the Council on Environmental Quality is entirely focused on one goal: building clean energy incentives which create 21st century jobs that improve energy efficiency and use renewable resources."


The news of the petition came after reports that Jones, a month before joining the Obama administration referred to Republicans as "a**holes" for not supporting administration efforts.

Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer on Sunday called Jones' association with the petition "devastating" and an example of "psychotic paranoia." He said the White House should ask Jones to resign.

White House Spokesperson Robert Gibbs said Friday that Jones "continues to work at the White House."

This guy should have never been given this job to begin with. Obama is doing what every other President in the past has done, give favours to those who helped him get elected. " NO CHANGE ". It is business as usual.

Sadly I had to get this news weeks ago from Fox News . CBS, NBC, ABC CNN and most newspapers are AWOL in reporting negative news about the Obama administration. I continue to get my news from other sources such as Drudge Report, Newmax, Fox, and Washington Times not because I want to but because I will not get the whole breaking story in a timely manner. Clearly CBS is bias and supports Obama.

Too many people close to government are afraid of questioning 9/11 for exactly this reason. It is suicide to your career.

NO ONE has a good explanation as to how WTC 7 collapsed at free fall speed in the late afternoon of 9/11. WTC 7 wasn't hit by a plane, was the furthest of the WTC buildings away from the towers, and only had minimal fires. Yet it collapsed very similar to the controlled demolition videos you can find on the internet.

Given that WTC 7 wasn't hit by a plane and had only minimal fires, YET collapsed at free fall speed is REASON ENOUGH to have an investigation.

Besides, if there is nothing to fear in an investigation, then why not have it so people like me can get a decent answer as to how WTC 7 fell so catastrophically. That all I'm sayin' If ya got nothin' to worry about, then just do it already.

How could a President of this country put such a radical in a position as that? He is a vowed communist, and also signed petition that america was involved with 9/11. What possible advise could this fellow give our president? Another thing why wasn't the news media on this? Why is the news media so bias toward Obama that they willnot as much give the true news but cover up for him and his czars????????????????????????

The selection of this man for any position of authority puts in doubt the wisdom of those making the selection. Any vetting whatsoever would have discovered that this man was the worst kind of racist and hate monger. Good riddance but we need to investigate to see how many more of these horrible people have infiltrated government.

Obama knew exactly who Van Jones is... that's why he hired him... for his radical beliefs!! He knew he was a Communist, Black Nationalist, ex-con, anti-Israel, anti-police, anti-military, America bashing radical.

Here is Valerie Jarrett (one of Obama's closest friends and advisers)saying they have been watching Jones since his days in Oakland and "We were so delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House."

The Petition Statement

We Want Real Answers About 9/11

On August 31, 2004, Zogby International, the official North American political polling agency for Reuters, released a poll that found nearly half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of those in New York state believe US leaders had foreknowledge of impending 9/11 attacks and "consciously failed" to act. Of the New York City residents, 66% called for a new probe of unanswered questions by Congress or the New York Attorney General.

In connection with this news, we have assembled 100 notable Americans and 40 family members of those who died to sign this 9/11 Statement, which calls for immediate public attention to unanswered questions that suggest that people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.

We want truthful answers to questions such as:

1. Why were standard operating procedures for dealing with hijacked airliners not followed that day?
2. Why were the extensive missile batteries and air defenses reportedly deployed around the Pentagon not activated during the attack?
3. Why did the Secret Service allow Bush to complete his elementary school visit, apparently unconcerned about his safety or that of the schoolchildren?
4. Why hasn't a single person been fired, penalized, or reprimanded for the gross incompetence we witnessed that day?
5. Why haven't authorities in the U.S. and abroad published the results of multiple investigations into trading that strongly suggested foreknowledge of specific details of the 9/11 attacks, resulting in tens of millions of dollars of traceable gains?
6. Why has Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator who claims to have knowledge of advance warnings, been publicly silenced with a gag order requested by Attorney General Ashcroft and granted by a Bush-appointed judge?
7. How could Flight 77, which reportedly hit the Pentagon, have flown back towards Washington D.C. for 40 minutes without being detected by the FAA's radar or the even superior radar possessed by the US military?
8. How were the FBI and CIA able to release the names and photos of the alleged hijackers within hours, as well as to visit houses, restaurants, and flight schools they were known to frequent?
9. What happened to the over 20 documented warnings given our government by 14 foreign intelligence agencies or heads of state?
10. Why did the Bush administration cover up the fact that the head of the Pakistani intelligence agency was in Washington the week of 9/11 and reportedly had $100,000 wired to Mohamed Atta, considered the ringleader of the hijackers?
11. Why did the 911 Commission fail to address most of the questions posed by the families of the victims, in addition to almost all of the questions posed here?
12. Why was Philip Zelikow chosen to be the Executive Director of the ostensibly independent 911 Commission although he had co-authored a book with Condoleezza Rice?

Those who are demanding deeper inquiry now number in the hundreds of thousands, including a former member of the first Bush administration, a retired Air Force colonel, a European parliamentarian, families of the victims, highly respected authors, investigative journalists, peace and justice leaders, former Pentagon staff, and the National Green Party.

As Americans of conscience, we ask for four things:

1. An immediate investigation by the New York Attorney General
2. Immediate investigation in Congressional Hearings.
3. Media attention to scrutinize and investigate the evidence.
4. The formation of a truly independent citizens-based inquiry.

The 9/11 Commission Report was a whitewash.

There are too many unanswered questions about 9/11. This issue will not go away until there is a truly independent investigation.

It surprises me that some of you people think Glen Beck is a nut case, yet when he exposed Van Jones for the goon he is, Mr Jones resigned. I guess its just coincidence tho, Mr. Beck has no followers right? lol

Why is it that when I think of Van Jones and the type of 'green' jobs his philosophy implies, I see thousands of former coal miners, whose jobs have been eliminated, on treadmills to turn turbines to produce electricity?

This articles is a joke. Wikipedia has enough info on Jones that should have kept him from getting hired if anyone had bothered or cared to look.

While he was director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Van Jones cut a vile CD against whites, the government, Israel, The Man, oil companies, and everything else American.

Van Jones is a self avowed COMMUNIST, that's why people are upset with him advising Obama. Obviously Obama is Van Jones. I saw Jones on a video clip stating he was a COMMUNIST. Obviously CBS supports communisum as well because they did not report this major fact about Jones. I am outraged! The people of this country need to know all the facts, not just the ones CBS thinks we should know. Shame on you CBS!!
