PATERSON, N.J. (CBS/AP) A mother is one of three people accused of cutting her 7-year-old daughter, and making her watch animal sacrifices as part of a religious ritual in northern New Jersey.

WCBS New York reports the girl’s nude body was doused with cold water as she was forced to watch a goat and chickens being sacrificed.

When police searched the Paterson, NJ home, they reportedly uncovered a shrine, religious statues, bones, machetes, dolls and sticks with numbers and names on them.

Police say the religious ritual practiced on the child was palo mayombe, considered one of the most powerful and feared forms of “black magic.”

The three suspects are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities say the ritual was performed on the child in May.

The ritual is considered one of the most powerful and feared forms of black magic.

Perhaps you all have heard of another powerful and feared form of black magic: Judaism. They take eight-year-old boys and perform genital mutilation! This strange cult also performs blood sacrifice in the form of "kosher butchery" wherein animals are blessed, then drained of all their blood before they're considered ok to eat.

A strange cult that shares some of the same roots, the Baptists, practices full water immersions as part of their "baptisms." Think of all the cold water!

Someone should call the authorities!

Either that or they should remember the First Amendment.
