Cheney's "Undisclosed Location" Revealed?

(CBS)

One of the things former Vice President Dick Cheney will be remembered for his having been spirited off to an "undisclosed location" following the Sept. 11 attacks. And now we know where that location may be.

As Eleanor Clift of Newsweek writes, Vice President Joe Biden talked about the possible spot earlier this year during the Gridiron Club dinner, an exclusive annual event for Washington journalists and bureau chiefs.

Biden reportedly suggested Cheney's hideaway is a "bunker-like" room under the Naval Observatory in Washington, where Biden, in his role as vice president, now lives. A young naval officer leading the vice president on a tour of the building reportedly showed Biden the "massive steel door" at the end of a narrow hallway where he said Cheney’s aides – and apparently the vice president himself, though that’s unclear from Clift’s report – would spend their time in lock down, surrounded by communications equipment.

One of the most powerful vice presidents in history, Cheney played a major role in crafting many of former president George W. Bush's policies. At the dinner, Biden reportedly hinted that those policies were not surprising, given what the bunker looked like.

The Naval Observatory is located almost two miles northwest of the White House, just south of Embassy Row.

"..that is a Federal crime and treason."

Cheney was over at CIA on a regular basis trying to force Tenant to say that it was a "slam dunk". Cheney is evil and the world will be a much better place the day that he dies.

FYI........Have you ever thought that it might be a good idea to keep the President and Vice President separate during all that chaos? Ever heard of Presidential succession? Oh, never mind, reality shouldn't matter to people like you.

I think it is a misnomer to call the bunker/comm center "The VP's" bunker. It may have been Cheney's hideaway, but I haven't seen anything suggesting it was ever used by anyone else. And, while all you folks are discussing Biden's big mouth let's remember that it was Cheney who outed a working covert CIA agent. That's not just being a motor mouth, that is a Federal crime and treason.

Who CARES where this lying, coward hid out whenever he felt scared?! I certainly DON'T!

Though, he always had time to "surface" and lie to the public or commit some criminal act!

...nothing changed!

Even today, he comes out of hiding to go on TV and lie to the public and bad-mouth America and Americans, then slink off to one of his hideouts!

...good riddance!

Since authorities will not punish him for HIS crimes, let's forget the scumbag even exists!

There's no penalty and no foul....Cheney's not likely to use the bunker again anyway.

Cheney needs to go away. He and Rove represent the worst in American Politics. I would group Bush in there with them but the difference is that Bush was ignorant albeit well-intentioned while these two manipulative villains were in the driver's seat.

D-ick Cheney is a war criminal and a coward to boot!!! He ran and hid in his own 'Spider Hole' whenever he felt like he may be in any kind of danger just like the coward he is. Instead of standing tall and leading the American troops and citizens by example, he ran and hid for his safety. He didn't mind dishing out death and destruction, but he wouldn't dare risk being on the receiving end. That is what a COWARD does.

hey endrepubs, this article is about biden being a dunce and revealing classified info. don't blame cheney for biden's big mouth. biden has the brains of a child. it's like he has to brag about something to everyone to make himself out to be bigger and better than everyone else. and as for these so called war crimes, give me a break you moron. if cheney committed all this so called crimes, what are they? name them now. you're a dunce because there're are none. if cheney broke the law how did he get away with it with a dem congress chomping at the bits to get rid of bush and cheney. it's like the dumbarate mantra, mention cheney, then mention halloburton and then for some reason it's bad. well prove it. give me some concrete evidence. well let me save you the time to rack that pretty little head of yours, they isn't any. go ahead, mention no bid contracts, but prove with evidence that cheney's bank account was improved by it. now i want you to go in the corner for time out for lying about our great former vice president. biden cant hold a candle in brains to cheney. and i'll tell you this, if i were a terrorist i would rather go up against bumbling biden any day over biden. and by the way you and all your minons can blame saddam for the war in iraq, if he would have let the inspectors do their job, we would not have gone in there.

Only a republican or neocon would think "hiding in the basement" was a "highly classified national security secret".

WHERE do these people come from?
