Poll: Obama Approval Rating At 62 Percent

Amid all the economic uncertainty and controversial government bailouts, President Barack Obama's job approval rating remains at 62 percent and includes a growing number of Americans who believe the country is moving in the right direction, according to a CBS News poll.

Nearly nine out of 10 Americans think the economy is bad and expect it will take time for any real economic progress to occur — 50 percent think it will take anywhere between 1 to 2 years — according to the poll.

A small sign that Americans are gaining a more positive outlook on the economy is the percentage drop in people very concerned about job loss as well as a drop in the percentage who say the economy is getting worse.

Another some sort of inside manipulation. The release is just for making a flowery name in the government. Probably majority of those 62% received their allotted share that was part of stimulus bill. What's happening? Our economy is turning to worst.

I wonder what rock these people are under? 62% is a big joke. No matter what news station you go on, his rating is falling, falling! Guess they think we are a bunch of idiots! lol

Well, the sorry truth is that most people ARE Democrats these days. Why would anyone beside a few dittoheads WANT to declare themselves to be a Republican? I mean it's downright EMBARRASSING!

What was Bush's approval Rating when he first took office? Roughly the same. In the low 60's. So what is your point?

Dissent is patriotic. But when you don't know what you are talking about and have no concrete reason for dissent except repeating what Faux news tell you, then you really aren't dissenting at all. Tell me what exactly do you feel the need to dissent about?

Now that he's won the election and assumed the office, the President's only job is to return prosperity and peace to the American people. Anybody who doesn't hope AND pray for his success does not love America, and should leave our country.

Notice on the Poll Results that cBSnews has quit including how many Democrats, Republicans, and independents were polled.

If you saw how many more Dembots were polled than Republicans, you'd know why it was 62%.
Still not that great of a number for the Messiah in only his 7th week.

I'm not sure what to think about this story. My head is hurting trying to think. I need to tune into Limbaugh so I can find out what I think about this. It's so uncanny that when I tune into Limbaugh, all things become crystal clear to me.
