Palin Stays In Public Eye
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin isn’t keeping a low profile in the days following the defeat in the presidential election. Palin is out giving a series of interviews to try and get her side of the story out on some of those reports leaking out of the McCain-Palin campaign at the end. After a series of stories suggesting that, among other things, Palin was unsure whether Africa is a country or a continent, she fired back at some of those items that had to have come from the GOP campaign. “That is cruel and mean-spirited, it's immature, it's unprofessional, and those guys are jerks,” she shot back yesterday and she’s scheduled for more interviews in the coming days.
Now it seems Palin will be making a return trip to the “Lower 48” sooner rather than later. She will make an appearance at the Republican Governors Association meeting in Miami where she will appear on a panel discussion titled, “Looking Toward the Future,” CBS News’ chief political consultant Marc Ambinder reports. Palin will also have media availability, which is certain to attract plenty of attention.
Meanwhile, Palin spent last weekend going through her family’s clothes to try to determine what belongs to the RNC, which spent some $150,000 on outfitting the Palins for the campaign trail. “She was just frantically ... trying to sort stuff out," Palin’s father, Chuck Heath told the AP. “That's the problem, you know, the kids lose underwear, and everything has to be accounted for. Nothing goes right back to normal," he added.

I think way too much has been made about this to try to make Gov. Palin look bad. She is a bright, intelligent, motivated woman who has knocked people off their comfortable "high-horses." Get over yourselves folks, Srah Palin is here to stay!

I''ll be the first to admit that even though I''m a converted Democrat, I still want to see the Republican Party regain its strength because I believe in a strong two-party system - checks and balances! However, if the Republican Party continues to place its future on the likes of Sarah Palin then they truly are in serious trouble. Dig Deep guys - it just shouldn''t take that much effort to come up with someone, ANYONE, who has so much as one grain of sense and heaven knows more intelligence than Sarah Palin.
Much, much more serious than Palin will be the discouragement of the poor in this country for promises made and not honored. They will not understand any smooth talk about circumstances (which were well known months ago)preventing their much anticipated relief.
Once again the poor will not see any chicken in their pots. Going to figure out one day that the only thing wanted is your vote. You get plucked later. Playing on your emotional fear will always be part of the pol game.
Lot of promises made. Few will be kept. Excuses already. Like, these guys did not know the extent of the economic mess well before the election? Yet, they used it as an excuse to get elected and now are using the economy as a reason to NOT deliver. We vote with our emotions too many times. Do not confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.
My question in June 2009 will be: Am I any better off than I was in Jan 09? I think not. "Remember the words:" "Are you any better off than you were 4 years ago. The question is are you any better off than you were 4 months ago." 3-2 count, Casey coming at bat.
I think any political leader (even of Alaska), needs to function on a somewhat more %u2018elite%u2019 level than what Ms. Sarah has so far demonstrated. Maybe we need writing samples as our next indicator.
Whack jobs!
Fortunately, the United States has dodged a bullet (from a helicopter) by voting against this type of Governmental Ruling Personal.
