All Trick, No Treat – McCain Says Democrats Trying to Scare Seniors

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

(HANOVERTON, OHIO) – John McCain accused his Democratic rivals of celebrating today’s holiday by trying to spook senior citizens.

“It’s Halloween, so what do the Democrats do, every four years, they run out, they try to scare seniors by saying that Republicans are going to take away their Social Security or we’re going to take way Medicare. They do it every four years, and my friends, our Americans have wised up,” McCain said. “I’m going to protect Social Security, I’m going to protect Medicare, I’m not going to let this Congress tax away your retirement savings.”

The Democratic National Committee, though, says McCain has considered privatizing some aspects of Social Security.

"The voters have a clear choice between Barack Obama, who stood up to President Bush's plan to threaten the retirement security of millions of Americans, and John McCain, who voted in favor of privatization at least three times and toured the country to promote President Bush’s failed plan in 2005,” said DNC spokesman Damien LaVera. “The last thing America can afford is John McCain doubling down on George Bush's failed, flawed and risky policies."

So who’s scarier? According to a CBS News/New York Times poll released yesterday, most people who are voting for John McCain would be “scared” if Barack Obama were elected president. 47% of Obama voters would be “scared” if McCain won, compared to 57% for McCain voters.

Vote ~ Obama and Biden Ticket~~~~

This is not going to be a recession. This is going to be worse than the Great Depression. ~~~

You history buffs out there know the Great Depression was causes by Republican Majorities in the 1920s that lead up to the 1929 Stock Market crash! The 1930s were the years of the Great Depression and it took a Socialist, FDR to get America back on track. It took him almost 10 years to do it. ~~~~~~~

McCain becomes President, and 99% of Americans will suffer under a Great Depression that will go on for many years. ~~~~~~~

Obama becomes President, and 99% of Americans will suffer hard times for two or three years before he can get things turned around. It will take Obama two terms to get this mess straightened out. He will have to spend his first days as President reversing all the Bush/McCain programs and policies in all areas, and then he can spend years cleaning up the mess and years more making repairs. ~~~~~~~

It always takes a Democrat that leans to the left to get America to the center! Eight years of a right wing low IQ Religious fanatic caused this mess. ~~~~~~

This is not the time for some senile old man with a right wing nutcase VP to step in with 20th century solutions to 21st century problems. This is the time for a high IQ 21st century thinking person to take charge, and that would be Obama. ~~~~~~

Obama will be much like FDR! He will save America if elected. ~~~

From 2001-2006, the Republicans passed legislation that did far more than scare seniors, it bankrupted seniors.

Everyone remembers Senator McCain campaigning to have Social Security put into the stock market.

Senator McCain, 401Ks are down 50% this year alone. Your policies would have forced millions of seniors to find jobs.

Not only are they receiving these outlandish salaries, but almost all ove them will excape paying taxes on any of their pay.

Case in point, Bill Gates: cashed out of Microsoft and paid zero taxes on $50 billion. To add insult to injury for tax payers, Mr. Gates actually got back $6 million from the government.

See, "Free Lunch" by David J. Johnston, who explains clearly in laymen terms how excutives have avoided taxes for 27 years beginning in 1981.

The massive accumulation of wealth in the "flood (of wealth) up economy" makes a joke of the notion of "trickle down" ideas of Reagodumbics.

Since 1970 the average american pay has (adjusted for inflation) increased from $34,000 to 37,000.

1968
Highest-Paid Executive:
James M. Roche
Chairman, General Motors
$795,000
Average Worker Pay: $5,602

1998
Highest-Paid Executive:
Michael Eisner
CEO, Walt Disney.
$575.6 million
Average Worker Pay: $22,976

From Business Week, the above stats compare 1968 to 1998: the average worker earned $5600 and the increase to the 1998 level is 393%: however, during the same period, the highest excutive pay increased by 72,327%.

When I left Bear Stearns in 1995, Ace Greenberg earned $15 million a year (salary). In 2000, Jim Cayne earned $100 million-- that''s only 5 years later.

The American people are being robbed by Republicans and Democrats alike.

Uh, Republicans have been trying to get rid of Social Security. They just don''t bring it up close to an election. Remember Bush''s number one agenda item when he had all the political clout after he started his second term was to "reform" and privatize Social Security.

Say anything, do anything McCain/Palin

In truth McCain has been in the camp of privatizing Social Security for years and investing it in where else? The stock market. In the last month how did that work out for you.

McCain/Palin claims get more off the wal by the minute.

When it comes to lies, the Republicans have no equal.

The best medicine for them, send them all packing Nov 4th.

Ohioans wake up!!! Get out there and vote for John McCain. Your jobs depend upon it. Everyone working for Firestone and Goodyear and B. F. Goodrich in Akron will be facing layoffs under Obama and the liberal Democratic party leadership. Al Gore, Barack Obama and the liberal Democrats are pushing a mandatory cap and trade emissions program. The cap and trade environmental pollution program will cause the tire and steel companies to shut down and lay off workers. A cap and trade emissions program with grandfathering provisions for current polluters will allow environmental groups to buy credits and prevent any expansion of production and job growth. Also tire and steel companies have a gold mine waiting for them if they simply close down major portions of their factories and sell their pollution credits. The tire companies may have a greater value to their shareholders by shutting down and selling their pollution credits than staying in business. The environmental policies of Barack Obama will cause huge losses of jobs throughout Ohio.

Virginians and North Carolinians wake up!!!!! Get out there and vote for John McCain. Your jobs depend upon it. What do you think will happen to the tobacco industry and tobacco farmers centered in Virginia and North Carolina when Barack Obama rewards his trial lawyer supporters with an open season on the tobacco industry. The trial lawyers are Barack Obama biggest supporters and are just biting at the bit to take another shot at the tobacco companies and begin filing suits for personal injuries against Virginia based tobacco companies.

Pennsylvanians wake up!!!! Get out there and vote for John McCain. The environmental policies of Barack Obama will cause huge losses of jobs throughout Pennsylvania. Barack Obama talk of clean coal research is just a pipe dream just as he talks about research on safe disposal of used nuclear material from nuclear power plants. Barack Obama will destroy the jobs of thousands of Pennsylvania coal miners because utilites and factories will no longer be able to burn coal under a cap and trade system. Utilites will sell their pollution credits and switch from coal fired plants to natural gas plants or even to wind driven plants located in other states. Teamster truckdrivers will also suffer under Barack Obama no energy policy and limited offshore oil development. The availability of diesel fuel will be curtailed under a Barack Obama energy plan that emphasizes alternative fuels and gives only grudging support for development our oil resources.

ALL negative ALL the time! That''s John McCain! He can''t give you a plan to save Social Security because he has none other than Putting it in the hands of corrupt CEO''s. It''s the same with everything else. He admits Bush''s Trickle Down doesn''t work but he proposes the same thing... throwing ALL the mud he can in the process!

The Alaska Independence Party has 4 objectives:
1) remain a territory
2) become a separate and independent nation
3) accept commonwealth status
4) become a state

Notice how everytime Sarah Palin refers to Alaska she says "our great STATE of Alaska." August 2008 she addressed AIP at their convention stating that she supports their vision relating to Alaska and "the constitution of our great STATE." What the hell in going on here, John McCain has lost his mind!!!

the democrats don''t need to try to scare anyone. the republicans are doing a fine job of that themselves. if there''s any doubt about where they stand or how unsound their policies are, see this link for a side by side comparison. http://mypakragames.com/games/we-the-decided
