Fake Flyer Tells VA Dems To Vote On Nov. 5th

Virginia's State Board Of Elections has released a "rumor buster" document telling voters to disregard a flyer claiming that Democrats should vote on November 5th.

"A fake flyer claiming it is from the State Board of Elections has been circulating, stating that Republican Party supporters shall vote on November 4 and Democratic Party supporters shall vote on November 5," the document states. "This information is false."

Election Day, of course, is November 4th for all voters.

Director of Communications Susan S. Pollard told Horserace that the source of the fliers is presently unknown, though the police are looking into it. She said it was distributed in predominantly African American areas, notably "Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads and Norfolk." Below, a copy of the flyer. Click here for the PDF.

Why do the republicans believe it is perfectly acceptable, to try and deny MILLIONS of people one of their most fundamental rights - the right to democratically vote.

When did this "disenfranchisement" become an accepted practice?

The GOP should be labeled a terrorist organization. They''ve done more harm to our democracy, than 20 al Qaeda''s could ever hope to accomplish.

Bin Laden is jealous that he wasn''t as successful on 9/11 as the GOP has been over the past 8 years.

In the last two Bush elections, Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Big Tobacco bankrolled Bush to the hilt.

No complaints from Republicans, as a small oligarchy of corporations bought the US Presidency away from 300 million Americans!

This succeeded because we didn''t do enough to support Gore''s & Kerry''s campaigns & help them defeat the Republican sleaze machine.

They lost, and we, the people, lost big time - Republican-made disasters just keep on breaking down on us every day!

But we''ve learned from that experience - today, more than 3 million citizens have donated, and tens of thousands are working day & night for Obama.

All citizens of good will in VA need to respond to this Republican attempt at grand-scale election fraud by taking the day off Tuesday, Nov. 4th, and helping to canvas every neighborhood in the state to get out the voters, and help get them to the polling stations!

By the sheer cumulative power of our huge public response, we will enable Obama/Biden to win this campaign, and to beat the sleaze machine of McCain/Palin/Rove & Fox News, and elect Obama/Biden on Tues, Nov. 4th!

Is there ANYTHING these scumbag Republicans won''t stoop to? They hijacked the 2000 election and got the Supreme Court to back them against the wishes of voters. They played dirty tricks last time, putting out lies about John Kerry, making his military service a negative, despite the fact that their guy was a rich playboy draft-dodger. Now this. Do Republicans have any sense of shame???

Citizens, have we learned from Bush 2000 and Bush 2004 or not?

Please, don''t wring your hands, don''t say "the govenor" should do something, don''t just say the obvious, that the Republicans are crooks trying to steal yet another election by any means possible!

No, that will not do this time around!!!

You must get involved this time!!! The future of your country is hanging in the balance!!! This is the most important election in a long, long time!!!

What to do?

All citizens of good will in VA need to respond to this Republican attempt at grand-scale election fraud by

taking the day off Tuesday, Nov. 4th,

helping to canvas every neighborhood in the state with a fine-tooth comb to get out the voters, and

help get all voters needing assistance to the polling stations!

that can be the only answer to this bald-faced election fraud by McCain/Palin and the sicko Republican Party!

By the sheer cumulative power of our huge public response, we will enable Obama/Biden to win this campaign in Virginia, beat the sleaze machine of McCain/Palin/Rove & Fox News, and elect Obama/Biden into office on Tues, Nov. 4th!

We have to make a stand this time!!!

Let''s do it!!!

Take it easy boys. You are starting to sound like the Hysterical Left. You think this is the only underhanded deal that has gone down in American politics. If you do, I have a bridge for sell. Of course I disagree with the flyer. For all I know it was the DNC just trying to stir things up. Sounds like something out of California. I mean, look. OB has outspent McCain 4:1 and things are getting real, real tight. You saw the ABC poll tonight which showed a complete reversal of who we trust with the economy. Speaking of sleeze and mistrust, LA TIMES, will you release The Tape. No. Well, you wrote the story. So, I conclude that the story is correct. Release the tape and show me I am wrong. OB can''t afford another radical hit so you best keep it under wraps until after Nov 4. Also, Joe Gaf, is the tax threshold $250, $200, or $150? Barney on Friday said taxes were going up. Schumer yesterday said OB did not mean he was going to lower taxes right away.. would take a few years. Hurry Joe..get those folks to the polls early before the final truth emerges.

I have been teaching my children about civil rights with this electon. The Republicans have offered everything needed to teach a child about oppression.

They have this flyer, there was that campaign worker who falsified a police report about an attack by a black man, they have the divisive campaign commercials, they have McCain and Palin calling Democratic Ideology as Socialism.

I have already asked them what kind of a leader they want to follow. They tell me they could never follow a mean person, or a liar. I did tell them. John McCain is not a mean person or a liar, but many of his followers are intentionally cruel and dishonest.

My children ask me why cruel and dishonest people gather around John McCain in huge numbers. My answer is that John McCain doesn''t do enough to make his message clear that he will attack problems instead of people. My children wonder why he attacks people, since it seems to create more problems to solve. I answer them, "yes, that is what we have had for the last 7 years." They ask me if we did something to deserve 7 years of bad luck. My answer was, "If you don''t take your clean destiny serious, then you will have a dirty destiny."

They told me, "Daddy, I think a clean destiny requires some work and I think Barack Obama wants the country to follow him to one."

Anyone who is so ill informed as to not know when election day is,shouldn''t be voting.Where''s the outrage over the judge in Ohio allowing homeless people to list a park bench as an address?I''m in favor of every legitimate person voting, but everyone should have a picture ID and valid address, not a park bench!ACORN has intentionally tried to make this election a mockery.I just voted today in LA and it was ordely and everyone needed a picture ID.Why can''t all states follow standard procedures?

John Mccain has rebuked anyone in his campaign who has said anything that could be considered racist. But let''s consider the facts:Obama attended a racist church that follows Black Liberation Theology;it''s in their mission statement, and preached hate for white man,and spewed anti-American sentiments. Why is it considered racist for anyone to question a 20 year friendship and active participation in a "church" like that?Racism is a two-way street, and Obama has participated in it more than most Americans I know.

This flyer is typical of the Republican''s love for their country and for democracy--that is, they have none. I''m hoping that the endlessly repeated lies on these threads are by paid McCain commenters. That way, they''ll disappear after Obama is elected President. If they are just desperate and stupid losers, we might have to put up with them for years.

We''re not hysterical. Just very, very, very, very tired of Republican shenanigans trying to supress Democratic votes. Tired of eight debauched years of Bush trashing this country''s reputation at home and abroad. Tired of Republicans trotting every tired trick of trying to sway the election by EVERY means possible EXCEPT talking about the issues and letting the country decide on a candidate based on his ideas and merits as opposed to every made-up slur and distorted half-truths. If your time in the sun is over for a while just accept it gracefully and then re-examine your party and your ideals and come out fighting in 2012 or 2016. But of course you won''t. You will fight dirty until the end and not care how much hatred you stir up in the process. I wish it could be different but you won''t let it be. And I find that so depressing.

insight2008...

There was no "complete reversal" of who we trust with the economy in the ABC poll.
The spread DID tighten up, but you overstate your case by saying there was a complete reversal.

Remember, we can access FACTS here on the internet. The information age has made it so hard for folks to distort or just make things up... this is truly a unique election because of it.

I''m glad.

And gotravel1...

The Constitution does not require a street address nor a home, nor the ability or desire to drive in order for a citizen to vote.

I hope there are REAL changes to the disparate way local counties -- yep, that''s where it''s administered -- enforce election rules. There should, at the very least, be a national standard based on our Constitutional rights.

McCain welcomed the endorsement of Texas megachurch preacher John Hagee, but later rejected it after tapes surfaced of Hagee saying that God sent Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust to help the Jews reach Israel.

Hagee has also called the Roman Catholic Church "the great ***" and a "false cult system," and he said Hurricane Katrina was God''s punishment for homosexuality.

McCain accepted Hagee''s endorsement in April, but changed his tune a month later, when he also rejected the endorsement of Ohio preacher Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church, who has been a critic of Islam, calling the religion violent.

A YouTube video surfaced Wednesday showing Sarah Palin being blessed in her hometown church three years ago by a Kenyan pastor witch-doctor, who prayed for her protection from %u201Cwitchcraft%u201D as she prepared to seek the governor%u2019s office.

The desperation of the right wing is palatable, like heat coming off a furnace. They can''t understand why after 8 years of the worst possible leadership this country has ever suffered through, that we want a change from the hate and fear they spew on a daily basis like toxic fumes from their fear foundry smokestack. Their vile visions of America have even been their campaign message and the biggest tactical error they''ve ever made. "Hate thy neighbor, as thyself"... brilliant!

Republicans can''t campaign on the issues, because they caused the issues we face today, so they try to create other issues out of thin air... hallucinations. Unfortunately for them, most people have at least half their wits about them and know they''re full of sh*t and stink to high heaven. They speak and we ask, "Who fartted?". (mis-spelling intentional) We''re now suffering from the hangover induced by the euphoria of gluttony that infected this country during their rule. THEY did this to us. BUSH the fiddler did this to us. If you ask why this ex-republican is voting Obama/Biden, I''d tell you that your brand is so cheap and sleazy it squeaks... like it''s made in China. Repulicans have lost their way and had better buy into a much more POSITIVE marketing after throwing away this election with their worn our and ever depressing message doom and gloom, hate and fear, suspicion and accusation campaign of shame they''ve run these way too many months. You get what give... the law of Karma. Their is a God after all, just not the one Christians think He is.

Big deal! Why isn''t the Los Angeles Times releasing the videotape of the 2003 farewell bash in Chicago at which Barack Obama lavished praise on Rashid Khalidi former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat? Because it shows Obama standing next to Bill Ayers? Now that would damage Obama severely and since LA Times opening supports Obama they won''t release the tape.
