McCain: Obama “Will Say Anything To Get Elected”

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

(ORMOND BEACH, FLA.) – John McCain kicked off his “Joe the Plumber” bus tour – Joe not included – aimed squarely at Florida’s blue collar workers and small business owners, whom McCain warned that Barack Obama wanted to raise their taxes.

“Obama wants to spread the wealth around, Sen. Obama wants to spread it around, that means fewer jobs at their businesses and fewer jobs here in Florida. You know, this week, this week we learned that Sen. Obama is concerned that his plan for wealth redistribution is seen as welfare, so he just added a work requirement,” McCain said a rally here.

“13 days to go, he changed his tax plan because the American people had learned the truth about it and they didn’t like it. It’s another example that he’ll say anything to get elected.”

The Obama campaign countered that McCain’s plan would raise taxes on millions of Americans.

“Last week Sen. McCain called Obama’s tax cuts for working people ‘welfare.’ Today he’s claiming Sen. Obama doesn’t do enough to help the unemployed. The only thing consistent about these attacks is how dishonest they are,” said Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor. “All of Sen. Obama’s tax credits only go to workers and they always have. The McCain campaign is once again trying to distort our plan to distract from the fact that Sen. Obama’s tax plan will help the middle class while Sen. McCain leaves out 100 million Americans.”

McCain also continued to remind voters that Obama’s running mate Joe Biden promised an international crisis if Obama takes office.

“We don’t want a president that invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars. Yesterday, Sen. Obama tried to explain it away by saying that his running mate sometimes engages in rhetorical flourishes,” McCain said to laughter from the crowd.

“Really? That’s another way of saying that he accidentally delivered some straight talk to America.”

According to Barack Obama, the only way we can get out of this mess is for this country to adapt socialistic values and enforce socialism by gaining control of all three branches of government. I%u2019m sure that the mountain of money his campaign has collected from domestic and foreign donors, names the Obama campaign won%u2019t disclose, will be used for that purpose. As soon as total control is gained, organizations like ACORN will have a green light to further abuse the law to suppress free speech, control the outcomes of elections and brain wash children in schools to believe that socialism is the answer to all of our problems. With total control of the government, and help from people like Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright and Antoin Rezko, who will probably be pardoned, achieving the ultimate goal, %u201Ca life of sexual confusion and moral collapse%u201D will become a strong possibility.

Having a maverick politician means his or her own party does not agree with them, doesn''t it? The other party also does not agree with them. So what is the talk about bipartisanship about? The maverick wants, it seems, to do what he wants and nuts to everybody else. I just don''t see how being a maverick works to get things done in a complicated society.

lightnin001 -

The NRA claim was listed on PolitiFact as being blatantly untrue.

It was also labeled as untrue on the Washington Post''s Fact Checker.

Every instance of it, on every political fact checker, lists it as being untrue.

Apparently YOU don''t know or care that FactCheck.org is connected with, wait for it, the Annenberg Project, which is connected to, guess who, Obama and Ayers! Surprise, surprise! Interesting that you weren''t aware of that, since you portray yourself as knowledgeable in this area.

Here''s an example of "democratic" financial responsibility:

WHO screwed up Social Security??

When Social Security began the "democrats" SAID:

Participation would be VOLUNTARY.

The contributions would be TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.

The funds wouldn''t be used for anything ELSE, and

interest would ADD to the account.

The payouts would NEVER BE TAXED.

LBJ & demo majorities in the House and Senate put the

funds in the General Fund so they could use it for

their pet projects (PORK), no interest adds to the

fund now!

CARTER & demo majorities in the House and Senate

gave Social Security to immigrants who had never

PAID IN!

CLINTON & demo majorities in the House and Senate

made the CONTRIBUTIONS taxable, AND made the

PAYOUTS taxable! (Al Gore cast the deciding vote on

the payouts!)

OBAMA wants to GIVE Social Security to the 11 million

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that are here, ALONG WITH

Medicare! (Think more or them will come then to get

in on THAT?) AND, with demo majorities in the House

and Senate, he''ll SUCCEED!

AND, after all THAT, the "democrats" have the GALL to

blame Republicans for the mess Social Security is in!

It''s interesting because it''s McCain who has said, and is willing to say, anything to win -- no matter how vile and defamatory the statement. He has been out to destroy Obama, both professionally and personally; that''s what he was doing when he said that the Obama pals around with terrorists. Why isn''t anyone pointing out that Joe the Plumber is a Republican plant who doesn''t pay his taxes? Or that most of the people who are afraid that their taxes are going to increase are delusional because only 5% of Americans earn more than $250,000 a year? Or that, what Joe Biden said, was that there is likely going to be an international crisis regardless of who ends up in office -- not one because Obama is President? Why is no one talking up Troopergat?Or Palin''s association with AIP (the secessionist group in Alaska she supports)? And, how Osama Bin Laden has been successful in destroying this country: 9/11 was his way of pulling Bush into the Iraq War (he knew that it would cause the end of our economy and the American Way of living). He wants McCain in office because he knows that McCain will continue the path of destruction. Why is Obama not talking about that?

An amazing comment to make since it actually speaks to McCain%u2019s mindset, rather than Obama. It is McCain who has said anything, including a litany of outright lies, in order to get elected. So here we go again with McCain trying to accuse Obama of something McCain himself is guilty of doing. Shameful behavior from a man who should know better. McCain is unfit to serve.

Robert Wurzelbacher was an exec of American Continental Corp., the parent company of
Charles Keating''''s Lincoln Savings. That''''s the bank that failed causing many to lose their life savings and cost US taxpayers $4.3 billion.
The nation''''s newest celeb Joe the Plumber is a fraud. A possible GOP plant, "Joe" is related to Charles Keating of The Keating 5 bank scandal that rocked John McCain!
Joe Wurzelbacher is the son of Robert Wurzelbacher - the son-in-law of Charles Keating - The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 scandal - for which Sen. John McCain was reprimanded by the Senate for his part in attempting to illegally influence government regulators, according to The Huffington Post.

Misinformation and lies, lightnin001. This has also been shown as false information by FactCheck.org and others.

The ad is not true, though it claims to be. No woman was involved, for one thing. And the burglar didn''t violently smash the door frame, as shown, but entered using a stolen key.

Obama''s vote would not have made anybody a criminal or denied the right of self-defense. Owners of illegal weapons would simply have remained subject to the penalties of local gun bans even in cases where the weapons were used in self-defense inside a home or business.

The NRA goes too far when it claims that he voted "to deny citizens the right of self-protection" generally. He did no such thing. The vote would have had no effect at all in places that didn''t have local gun bans in the first place. Even though DeMar was fined for possession of an illegal weapon, he was not charged with anything more serious, such as assault with a deadly weapon, because he was found to be acting in self-defense.

Had the bill the NRA refers to not passed, nothing would have changed for DeMar or others like him. He would not have been subject to anything more than paying the penalty for violating the local handgun ban.

This June, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the District of Columbia''s local gun ban, holding that it was incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. After that, Wilmette repealed its own gun ban on July 22.

What McCain says is true and those who are blind to it are really senile.

Actually, McCain is the one who would say or do anything to get elected. Only a fool would not be able to see this. Are you people really that stupid or are you just being a hardcore partisan?

Hawaii is part of the US, OneAmerican7. Having been born there, he doesn''t need to "forge" anything.

As well, our law states that anyone born outside the US would be a citizen if one of their parents was born in the US and lived in the US for at least 5 years.

So, even with the OTHER lies that he was born in another country being spread about - he STILL would be considered a citizen and would not need a "forged" anything because his mother was born a US Citizen and lived in the US for more than 5 years.

And the GOP will lie, cheat, and steal to win as they have for the many years. To them, wining is more important than truth, the law, or common civility. Has McShame forgotten the barrage of dirty tricks Republicans have used in past elections? How about the robocalls purporting to be from the Democrats. What about Watergate and that crook, Tricky ***?

PALIN PROBLEMS

_FLIP-FLOP-GATE: She was FOR the "Bridge to nowhere" before she was AGAINST it.

_PORK-GATE-1: As mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin HIRED A LOBBYIST to help the tiny town secure at least 14 EARMARKS, worth $27 million ($5,000 PER RESIDENT). Palin APPEARED multiple times before congressional appropriations committees to SEEK EARMARKS.

_PORKGATE-2: Under her leadership THIS YEAR, Alaska asked for almost $300 PER ALASKAN in requests for pet projects (EARMARKS). THAT''S MORE PORK THAN ANY OTHER STATE RECEIVED, per person, from Congress.

_TROOPER-GATE: She had Alaska''s public safety commissioner fired after he refused to dismiss a state trooper who had divorced Palin''s sister. Then she lied when the investigation showed she VIOLATED ETHICS LAWS.

_ENVIRONMENT-GATE : Palin opposed the U.S. government''s listing of a variety of animals as endangered, including the polar bear and the beluga whale.

_RESIGNATION-GATE: When taking over as mayor of Wasilla, she asked top officials to resign, including that of the police chief who said it was because he supported her opponent for mayor.

_SECESSION-GATE: Her husband twice registered as a member of the SECESSIONIST Alaskan Independence Party. She attended the 1994 CONVENTION with him.

_CREATIONISM-GATE: She wants CREATIONISM taught in schools.

_BURNING-BOOKS-GATE: As Mayor she tried to ban books from the public library.

_HUBRIS-GATE: The war in Iraq is "a task from God."

Enough IS enough!

Enough of Republicans and their administrations ignoring lawful subpoenas and claiming to be above the law.

Enough of Bush/McCain economics.

Enough tax breaks for the rich and crumbs for the rest of us.

Enough lies and mismanagement.

Enough of a President who "doesn''t really understand economics" as McCain has himself admitted.

Enough of lobbyist-run campaigns and Presidencies.

Enough of McCain advisers complaining that Americans are "whiners".

Enough corporate welfare.

Enough of McCain-supported deregulation.

Enough tax breaks for Big Oil.

Enough of $10 BILLION a MONTH siphoned from our economy to pay for a war that is making us no safer.

Enough about "earmarks" that constitute less than 1% of the Federal Budget.

Enough about "reforming the economy" when McCain spent 26 years twiddling his thumbs.

Yes. Enough. Enough LIES and DISTORTIONS.

THROW THE DISHONORABLE BUMS OUT. No more neoCON Republicans driving our country down.
