McCain's Tina Fey Mention Draws Jeers From The Crowd

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

(WOODBRIDGE, VA.) -- Usually it’s only the mention of Barack Obama or the national media that get boos at McCain rallies, but today it was Tina Fey.

McCain mentioned that his running mate was appearing on “Saturday Night Live” tonight, and a hearty boo came up from the crowd when McCain mentioned the cast member that impersonates Sarah Palin:

“As you know she’s going to be with Tina Fey, who I think is her twin sister,” McCain said to boos from the crowd. “I think they were separated at birth, but anyway, I know she’ll do a great job.”

Fey mentioned earlier this week that she’s “leaving earth” if McCain and Palin were elected, which could account for her lack of popularity at Republican rallies.

Please be honest...do you think that you are really the best choice for VP. Can you really be counted on if McCain drops dead from the stress of being President. Doesn''t it bother you that you were chosen as the GOP running mate simply because you are female?
By the way Ms. Palin, it seems that all you can do is talk "dirty gossip" innuendo and ***...verses actually speaking about the nation''s problems and how you and Grumpy McCain will guide the country to fix the problems...

You should be working for a big corporation as a spokes person.. AIG would have been perfect for you...You have NO place being one step away fro the Oval office... you are a token and a joke.

If the citizens of the US would think of the country as a corporation and that we are the stock holders..I doubt that you would be hired as an executive to help run the corporation..When hiring a VP for a serious (corp.) position, qualifications mean more than your hobbies of shooting moose, misusing your power (trooper gate) and trying to get books banned from libraries...

Did you see Senator McCain roll his eyes, grimace and seethe during the third debate? Who would want that guy to negotiate anything? He cannot even control his temper.
I think President Obama will prove to be a careful, thoughtful president who knows enough to gather the best and brightest in his midst who will speak truth to power. He is very smart and able to think on several levels at the same time. He reminds me of Bill Clinton in that way. The international community would have to throw away a lot of their stereotyped views of us, the citizens of the United States if we elect a person of color. Let us go forth like Obama says and grow this nation all we can from the bottom up so more people in this country have a better life of peace and prosperity. Somebody has to start fixing the mess we are in and that somebody is us. We are they and better days are coming.

swearengen4 it isn''t surprising that you want to switch the subject from Palin to Obama, I guess you have no respect for her either. It''s like Tina Fey said, She doesn''t have to come up with the material because Palin is writing it for her.

If you want to talk about Obama, only a stupid fool would say that he has NEVER lied or cheated at anything. As far as him comming from Chicago, I would say good on him for comming from such a corupt place as you say and showing us that not everyone in politics is corupt. I guess everyone in Illinois must be corupt, because it wasn''t just Chicago that voted him to be State Senator and US Senator. I along with everone from Illinois would sure love to see your proof.

If he were as bad as you republicans try to make him out to be, why isn''t he locked up awaiting a trial that will never happen. I would imagine it''s because after 2 years of drudging up the same stuff you republicans havent been able to make it believable.

Lastly I would like to ask you the same question about McCain/Palin, Where they are planning to get the money to pay for the Billions they are planning to spend on Programs. They are planning a spending freeze on everything but Military and Oil. They also want to give 300 billion to big business, but remember what you said--remember we are broke!!

Hey KristenRN even prominent democrats are saying Obama is not qualified and he NEVER lied or cheated to get where he is?? He is from Chicago the most corrupt political system in the USA-by the way where is Obama going to get the money for all of the programs he is proposing--remember we are broke!!

Well, there''s part of the problem right there. As you say, Palin is no more than an average person.
We need someone a whole lot better than average in the Presidency and Vice Presidency in these troubled times!

Oh that''s so funny swearengen4, I hope they include that within the SNL skit tonight. Margaret Thatcher, Elizabeth Dole or even Katie Couric weren''t convicted of crimes againt their state or resorted to lies and distortions to get their jobs either, Besides all that EVEN prominent republicans are agreeing with us that she shouldn''t even be on the ticket, so it''s just not angry Democrats that are against her.

Was all of this hatred that Palin is receiving the same when Margaret Thatcher, Elizabeth Dole or even Katie Couric started their career?? Mu goodness I have never seen so much hate towards a person that is no more that a average person trying to go to Washington to try and make a CHANGE!! It is what the democrats are all talking about-I read a article just today saying that republicans are happier than the democrats--wow it seens to be so true

Doesn''t the saying go..It''s better for the whole world to think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it..

McCain was extremely embarrassing on Letterman, now Palin want''s to go prove she''s a bigger joke than he is by appearing on SNL.

McCain/Palin wont be happy until the word republican is just another word for embarrassment.

I for one am laughing all the way to the voting booth

Tina Fey is doing Palin a Huge Favor. By keeping her silly face in public. The only reason that she will be on SNL, is because she is a Joke. And the World is shaking their heads.

And to think that Fey doesn''t need to write most of the material for her satire ... all she has to do is quote Palin directly!

Be afraid, very afraid.

OK, I made that one up.

Lighten up. It''s a COMEDY. Maybe cringe inducing at time, but, officially a COMEDY. Take that stick out of your as$ and you might get to enjoy life a bit more.

Paris, The admittedly tasteless skit about incest was aimed not so much at Palin as at Alaska, a state where rape (and, presumably, incest) occurs far more often than in the more civilized "lower 48." To thrive in Alaska, you have to be crude like the Palins, not sensitive like tina Fey.

SNL is commedy. dburfears'' is correct with the implication that Republicans have no sense of humor; I personally loved the "talent portion flute playing" episode of SNL a couple of weeks ago, fit Palin to a tee. She''s not qualified to be VP of the US, yet alone Governor of Alaska; oh that''s right, she already is Governor of Alaska, who''d a thunk it?

The morons who support the super rich Republican Party have no sense of humor. Mostly it''s just that they are too stupid and uneducated to get a joke.
