GOP Robo-Calls Hitting Ayres Issue

Republicans are making robo-calls (automated phone calls) in key states that raise Barack Obama’s association with William Ayers in harsh new language, the Politico reports. The latest in a series of calls claims Obama “worked closely” with Ayers, a former member of the Weather Underground, who “killed Americans.” The call, and similar ones, appear to be taking place in Wisconsin, New Mexico, Virginia, Maine, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina. CBS News confirmed that the RNC is behind the calls. The script:
Hello. I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because you need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. capitol, the Pentagon, a judge's home and killed Americans. And Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack Obama and his Democratic allies lack the judgment to lead our country. This call was paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee at 202-863-8500.

This is not only low, it is inciting extremists. The ad is intended to make the listener think that Obama actually worked closely with the Weather Underground in terrorist activities. He was 8 years old for god''s sake! I was once an independent voter, but, with this hate mongering ad, I will never vote Republican again!

The GOP is at a low. Harassing people at home will not get votes. Most of us, are on the Do Not Call List.

Good point, unfortunately political parties are exempt from the Do Not Call List, just like charities. It won''t stop you from getting a call.

The Republicians have become a repulsive party. They know that they can''t win on issues and they are reverting to only thing that they are good at. God help us if they win!

More smear tactics from a campaign with no economic policy. Shall we talk about the Keating five or William Timmons? Guilt by association is a two way street. And for your information Libby was a terrorist in the way he deceived the American people and trashed the constitution. It''s not just bombs that make traitors and terrorists! You''re the one who doesn''t get it, honey. There is the best man for the job and it is NOT McCain! More of the last eight years of deregulation and ignoring the constitution is not what our country needs. You are like bobble head sheep following McCain down the road into hell.

The McCain campaign has lowered the bar once again. I simply hang up when I get automated phone solicitors, especially if it''s a negative political ad.

McShame on you McCain.

If you honor those of us that served and the ones that lost their lives. Why don''t you support someone that can help regain our dignity here at home and in the world by voting for Obama/Biden and not the same old garbage that has been in charge way too long. McCain lost his dignity when he didn''t reel Palin in when he had the chance. In the debate he didn''t have the guts to bring up the Ayers thing until he was forced to. He has more hidden issues than you can shake a stick at.

"Good! I''''ve got the phone book out making basically the same call...

Except I''''ve been adding in Rezko, Auchi, Alsamarrea, Khalidi, as well as the New Party (commies), ACORN, and how he marched with La Raza under the Mexican flag!

People need to know O''''slima is a terrorist supporting anti-American, and a whopping liar!

More republican scare tactics. They have nothing to sell but fear. All their ideas are proven failures which have led us to the horrible mess we''re in now. The Reagan revolution has failed and I say hurrah!

As an american that honors anyone that served in our military regardless of party affiliation - the names you are calling John McCain are beyond human and the same can be said about Sarah Palin.
Don''t you cruel, no class, less than human understand why this country will be in trouble if Obama wins, just the blogs from supporters of his tells the whole story.

dzemog1: Obama has told the whole truth about relationship with Ayers - that he''s just someone that lives in the neighborhood.
Obama wrote the forward in Ayers book - Ayers and his wife(convicted for terroirism and a felon) Ayers got off on a techicallity) hosted Obama''s coming out party in their living room when he decided to run for State Senator of Illinois and contributed to his senate campaign. Obama says he was 8 years old when Ayers did his deeds - that''s true - but as an adult Obama should have ran the other way if he''s a true american instead of having a long-term relationship with a unrepented terrorist. you just don''t get it do you, Libby was not a terrorist.
Next you''ll tell us Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Goofy were behind 9/11 and Donald duck trained them.
I really think Democrats have lost their minds - all about the party - to hell with what kind of guy is running.

These guys are unbelievable. How many times has McCain now said he doesn''t care about Ayers? I don''t know how many people watched their last debate, but considering how it was being promoted as a potential bloodfest, I''m betting most of the people these robocalls are targeting have already seen and heard Obama tell the world the truth about his so-called relationship with Bill Ayres. Playing this card doesn''t work, but please, go ahead and keep using it. The more you talk about Ayres, the more people you alienate and the less time you''re spending talking to people about what matters to them. And hey, if you''re going to throw these kinds of stones, tell your guy he needs to be able to take it when they''re thrown back. Last night on Letterman, he was called out on his own association with Gordon Liddy and was visibly peeved that HIS relationships were being questioned. Kudos to Dave for not letting McCain off the hook and for making him answer to the charges he and his campaign are throwiing around.

The GOP is a lie-based organization with a hate-filled focus. McCain has sunk lower than Bush/Rove, a task I would have thought impossible. Palin is an embarrassment to women specifically and the human race in general. Send McCain back to Arizona and Palin to outer space.

Further proof that the GOP is still run by the fear and smear group that''s been in charge since the Nixon/Atwater days. As the Americaan population gets better educated every year, these lies will work less and less because there will be continually fewer STUPID people out there to belive them.
