Palin To Appear On SNL?

As Saturday Night Live viewers well know, Tina Fey's much-talked-about impression of GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has not been kind to the Alaska governor. It may even have played a role in fixing the public perception of the candidate, which, at least until last week's vice presidential debate, has largely been on the decline since she exploded onto the national scene.

Now the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Palin may appear on Saturday Night Live herself, potentially to make fun of Fey's American Express commercials. Bill Zwecker reports that while some McCain staffers want Palin to simply keep joking about Fey's impression on the campaign trail – she wrote "I'm not Tina Fey" on one backer's cell phone – others believe it is important that she appear on the show herself.

Palin would be far from the first candidate to appear on SNL after an unflattering portrayal. Earlier this year, Hillary Clinton appeared on the show standing next to an identically-dressed Amy Poehler, who had mockingly portrayed her, presumably to show she is in on the joke.

McCain-palin tactics against Obama-Biden

PS: It is sad and unfortunate that Hon, Temperamental and angry Maverick McCain has changed into bitter rather than better man.

Sarah Palin portraying Tina Fey *would* have some ironic symmetry...

And sylvie, as much as Gov. Palin scares me as a possible VP, she *does* seem to actually enjoy Tina Fey''s portrayal of her, from what I''ve read.

An appearance on SNL would legitimize Palin. Please SNL, let''s not take her there. Let her keep her nicety-ness to GOP gatherings where it can serve to self-aggrandize all the other nicety people in the audience.

Palin doing a spoof on Tina Fey''s AMEX commercial would be awesome. Art imitating Life imitating Art Presumably she would be trying to sneak into the Elitist Flying Club for a bit of a wolf shoot.

SNL should reinact the guantlet of the 1992 Tailhook Convention with Senator McCain groping Govenor Palin as she moves through it. Maybe some of the 14 admirals who lost their positions over efforts to cover up the scandal could complement Senator McCain on his defense of the Navy while others were calling for strong punishment.

The fact that Fox News Network is taking the position of launching a series of all out assaults against senator Obama%u2019s character is a sad day in journalism. They should be ashamed of the immoral and unethical standards that their network displays on a continual basis. What they must be made to understand is that as citizens we rely upon networks for their fair and accurate reporting of events and we will not tolerate anything less, especially when its over the top or maybe I should say as far right as Fox News Network is. If your views are the same share this message with others. It is time to take a stand against Fox and look to other networks for fair and accurate news coverage.

Another sign of how stupid the McCain camp thinks the American voters are -- Palin might appear on a weekend late night comedy show... but she won''t appear on weekend news shows such as Meet the Press or Face the Nation. Somehow, they think we won''t notice.

I believe that a person who believes that any news station is without bias is not only a deluded person, but one who does not understand the meaning of ''bias.''

Also, I would be interested to know how many would be willing and ABLE to put themselves under such public scrutiny and come out with a rosier image than the one being portrayed on SNL of governor Palin.

Message directed to jwoodatty and economist777:

You two are complete morons and its scary that we have a country full of idiots like you two with a vote. As far as your allegations about Obama''s ''57 state'' comment, why don''t you reference the sight that has it? Sounds like more republican lies. Since Obama finished FIRST in his class at Harvard Law School (not 5th from the bottom like McCain), and he was a professor of constitutional law, the last thing you or any of your moronic counterparts should do is question his intelligence. And as far as the prediction that Obama will ruin the economy, your republican counterparts have already done that. Explain to us how ''Keating 5 McCain''s'' policies will get us back on track. Keep in mind that it has been his deregulation policies that have gotten us into this mess. Obama has the following economic advisors to name a few: Warren Buffet, a former Fed Chairman, two former Treasury Secretaries, two former SEC Chairmen, John Corzine (former Goldman Sachs CEO). McCain has, well, the same people who preached deregulation and a bunch of oil execs. Even your hero Ronald Reagan hated McCain.

PALIN CONTINUES TO CAMPAIGN IN A WAY WORTHY OF VLADIMIR PUTIN IN RUSSIA.

Again Today, reporters weren''''t permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park in Clearwater to talk to Palin''''s audience, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head to where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out, confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?" and turn the person around, Times staff writer Eileen Schulte wrote on the paper''''s Web site. When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn''''t allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, "NEGATIVE THINGS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN", Schulte reported.

What the heck is going on? No real interviews. Blame the questioner when Palin cannot answer simple question? Turn Palin into nothing more than a picture on an campaign ad?

There must be something VERY VERY WRONG WITH PALIN for McCain''''s Campaign to hide her in such an extreme way.

We are supposed to vote for someone who does not think the American People deserve questions answered?

The question is whether Americans will allow it. If we do not vote her down because of this practice, it will guarantee that political discourse will be permanently destroyed. Candidates will become nothing more than "advertising campaigns" with pictures and slogans but no real serious questions about who they are or what they will do.

Vote John McCain!!!!!

Ohio is proud of John Glenn and John McCain both fighter pilots who served their country when their country was at war.

Barack Obama is dumb as a doorknob to raise Keating 5 and criticize John Glenn. You just put Ohio in the Red state column.

The people of Ohio are proud of John Glenn, a former Marine Corp fighter pilot during World War II.

John Glenn was awarded the Congressman Medal of Honor and flew aboard the space shuttle at the age of 77.

The Barack Obama campaign should stop criticizing an 87 year old war hero John Glenn by raising the Keating 5 scandal that happened over twenty years ago.

For two people who have no military service between them and have never worn the uniform, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have a lot of gaul to obliquely criticize an 87 year old war hero and first man in space John Glenn.

It is also pretty stupid to criticize an Ohio native son when Ohio is in play during this election. Vote for John McCain, he respects veterans especially 87 year old fellow fighter pilots.

Vote John McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, let''s not talk about how the Keating 5 scandel eerily resembles the finacial crisis we are having right now. Just stick your head back in the sand and maybe by Nov 4 it will all go away. The last time I checked it was McCain running for President, not John Glenn. But, with how this campaign has slid, I''ll take John Glenn hands down. And, FYI, in 1989 Phoenix New Times reporter Tom Fitzpatrick stated McCain was the "most reprehensible" of the Keating 5 as he had not only political ties, but close social ones as well. Our economy is in the toliet and the Republicans with their claim to wanting "small government" has not only been party to this crisis, but allowed this goverment to swell beyond recognition. Thanks Bush/Cheney. With McCain/Palin it will be more of the same. Where''s Mccain suspending his campaign to ''save America'' from this crisis? Oh, he''s at the " I have no clue on how to address this economic crisis, so I''ll just throw as much mud at Obama as I can" camp. He''s got pitiful Palin to lead the charge and be the ''fall guy'' when the music stops.

PugHenry3 - If serving in the military, is the only way that qualifies someone to be Commander-In-Chief then I should be President of the U.S. However, that is not what the issues are about. You are right that John Glenn is a true hero to this nation, but what you fail to realize is that just like John Glenn, John McCain was involved with a scandal that brought down other Senators. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to see what is happening today is the same problems we faced back in 1989 where the government once again has to bail out the banking industry. There is no implication on my part that McCain has something to do with this new crisis in this country. However, being part of the Washington establishment since the 1980''s somehow does make you a culprit with what is going on. John McCain can make a stand for either he had no idea what was happening which would then make him seem out of touch. If he indicates that he knew what was going on, then why didnt he do anything to stop this problem? So before you start trashing Barack Obama for his lack of experience think about John McCain and his experience, and where we are today because of the so called Washington experience.

McCain was 100% exonerated of all charges in the Keating 5, as was John Glenn. By bringing it up now, Obama is showing a desperation to win at all costs, even if it means being completely dishonest and deliberately misleading the public. I''m disgusted.

Do not confuse a war hero with a good president. Was Ulysses S. Grant a good president? He was a true war hero, graduated higher in his military academy than 894 out of 899 like McCain. they both have bank corruption on their resumes. Honor their war efforts, not the politics.

McCain says he knows how to win the war, ergo telling the generals what to do. Obama will listen to the generals that knows what is going on and how to do the right thing.
