McCain Pulls Advertising In Michigan

In what he characterized as "a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play," Politico's Jonathan Martin this afternoon reported that John McCain is effectively ceding the state of Michigan to rival Barack Obama.

Martin, citing two Republicans, wrote that the McCain campaign would stop running ads and mailing out appeals in the state and would send its staff there elsewhere.

CBS News has confirmed that the McCain campaign will take down most of its advertising in Michigan, though the Republican National Committee continues advertising in the state. Most of the campaign's Michigan staff will remain in place, however, according to a McCain advisor.

"The move away from Michigan reflects the abandonment of any pretense that McCain can spend freely to expand the map for Republicans this year, and it's a sign that the campaign recognizes how the past two weeks have erased nearly all of McCain's gains since August," writes CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder.

A Selzer & Co. poll of Michigan likely voters taken between Sept. 22nd and 24th showed Obama leading McCain 51 percent to 38 percent. A CNN/Time/ORC survey taken around the same time showed a tighter race, with Obama leading 51 percent to 46 percent.

Seventeen electoral votes are up for grabs in the state.

Just another stunt of their many of late, by a campaign out of ideas and desperate.

Biden conducted himself as the VP, and Heartfelt answers in the debates. Palin came off fake and reading from notes. I was not impressed. But, take note Michigan. We see where MCcain''s heart is.Remember at the Polls.

McCain is probably making the right choice. I live in Michigan, and everyone I talk to is a thick-headed Democrat. Come hell or high water, they cannot be swayed with any level of reasoning. They even like Jennifer Granholm for crying out loud! She has just about single handedly ruined our economy in Michigan.

What concerns me is that Ms. Palin is a good actress trying to play the role of vice presidential candidate. She looks pretty, sounds good and has good speaking skills. But so does Miss America. I do not think she is in anyway close to being ready or qualified to be Vice President of the United States. She avoids questions because she does not know the answer or she has not been given her lines yet from the GOP. I do not want a woman in White House who is barely more qualified than myself. I want a woman or a man who knows what they are doing on their own without having to be told what to say. She has fooled a lot of people with her act since so many support her. But when it comes right down to it... she is not a good vice presidential candidate and will not make a good vice president. She appears to be air headed, uneducated about the things a vice president should know and a bad choice for anyone to vote for... I am pro woman and pro God and pro love and tolerance for all. But there is no way I can support her.

McCain and Palin, they are the same as Bush/Cheney. The same lies, the same corruption, the same deceive, the same misleading position, the same connection with the rich and the powerful. The just uses the stupid righ wing christians who see in Palin the new "mother of god". She is just an opportunist and a puppet of the republican electoral machine. Thanks Lord, they will be defeat in November 4th. Our country is great and blessed by God. We don''t need these two crocks.

In the middle of all the spin, strategy and games, there is one thing both Karl Rove and the Republicans keep forgetting:

**YOU NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION.

1. If you find no matter how smart Palin is now, she still gets dissed: **

2. If you find that no matter what we do in Iraq, the Iraqis hate us: **

3. If McCain finds that no matter what he says about the economy now, people think he''''''''s an idiot on that issue: **

4. If the GOP finds no matter how McCain spins or lies or disowns Bush, people now blame REpublicans, McCain and Bush for the economy**

**YOU NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION.

**YOU NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION.

And that first impression is how people will usually judge and see you. No matter how much lipstick you try to put on it later.

Palin kicked Biden''s tail. How can you vote for a guy who has NEVER sponsored anything in his entire political career? Who has terrorists (Ayers) and bigots (Wright) as his leading supporters?

McCain/Palin 08. Real Change that won''t bankrupt America!

Wow Mark thanks, i didn''t know that. It was sarcasm. The truth is she cant actually see Russia from her house and she has never seen Russia from Alaska because she has never been to the one part of Alaska that can see Russia. Not that it matters. The Russia comment was and still is ridiculous. I almost feel bad bringing it up but the truth is she still defends it. She acts like we are stupid enough to believe that is a qualification. I am actually offended by her acting this way and defending a statement that everyone know is ***. But thanks for letting me know the country to my north is Canada. Oh and by the way it''s pronounced Canada.

Bush/Cheney called 800 Battalions to harass Remaining House Members to Vote for Bailout Tomorrow!!

Just heard this - hot off the press at 9:30pm, Thursday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Bush/Cheney start WW III over this? We know they have been itching to start a war to counter/cancel November''s elections so they can stay in power for the past year. Is this it?

The House members whom voted against are those who represent poor and low income areas throughout the country and areas that do not benefit from bailout. They are enough in numbers to make a difference in Monday''s voting. Let''s keep supporting them!!!

Pass this around to others so they know they have and are supported by the public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McCain recommends veto of a bill he just voted for -- in less than 24 hours. Can he take a position and keep it on any issue for more than a day.
