Palin Tells Couric That She’s “The New Energy”

Katie Couric’s series of exclusive interviews with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin continues on tonight’s Evening News, but thanks to our friends at Couric & Co., we have a sneak peak. Asked whether it was a “risky thing” to mention how long she’s been listening to Joe Biden’s speeches given the fact that her running mate is 72 years old, Palin said:
“Oh no, it's nothing negative at all. He's got a lot of experience and just stating the fact there, that we've been hearing his speeches for all these years. So he's got a tremendous amount of experience and, you know, I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas and he's got the experience based on many many years in the Senate. And voters are gonna have a choice there of what it is that they want in these next four years.”

What kind of a question is that Katie? So wait, you must agree that with age comes wisdom...

Only 1 candidate has the most obvious wisdom. McCain.

It''s too bad that McCain''s wisdom is marred and inhibited by McCain''s reckless judgement.

The "New Energy"? The "New Ideas". Sarah, could you list a single new idea? Maybe we should declare war on the Soviet Union? She makes Dan Quayle look like a genius.

"I''m the new energy, the new face, the new ideas..."

Is the woman running for CoverGirl spokeswoman or Vice President of United States? New energy... new face? WHO CARES? That''s not enough to run the country. We need INTELLIGENCE, WISDOM, HONESTY, INTEGRITY... every trait Palin doesn''t seem to possess. I''m not even going to bother with the "new ideas" she claims she has... that''s just such a ridiculous joke.

Palin said "...I''m the new energy, the new face, the new ideas and he''s got the experience based on many many years in the Senate. And voters are gonna have a choice there of what it is that they want in these next four years."

Palin again puts her foot in her mouth. She''s running for VP, not president. That means Obama is the new energy, new ideas for the next four years.

Is this the new energy she regulates, that qualifies her for the highest office?

Sarah %u201CBroom Hilda%u201D Palin at age 44-45 isn%u2019t exactly a spring chicken (or, Puffin?) herself and, is really TOO OLD to be having an infant child, or any further children beyond this point would again be too risky for a woman of her age.

Joe Biden has been giving speeches - but what has he accomplished for the American people lately?
Posted by OneAmerican6

Joe Biden has not only been one of the hardest working Senators (since Sarah Palin flunked out of 2nd grade), he%u2019s been the lone voice of dissent serving on the Armed Forces Committee against the odious, and abhorred mis-management of the Iraq War that George W. Bush and Richard Cheney started on false pretense and didn%u2019t have a credible plan to keep our troops from danger resulting in many (all) unnecessary deaths and injuries.

What America wants, needs and deserves is an end to recklessness. Cocky, shooting off at the mouth, swaggering BS and attitude with nothing of substance behind it -- well, I think we''ve had more than enough of that.

We don''t need a cheerleader, we need a leader. We don''t need a bulldog for McCain - he''s doing FINE, financially and otherwise. We need someone with experience, intelligence, good judgement and who can demonstrate quick thinking. Palin is not what we need.

I so wish McCain had THOUGHT a lot more about what the party NEEDED rather than what what look good on the campaign trail.

What language is she speaking? There is some odd kind of grammatical consistency detectable. It''s sort of like she doesn''t know any verbs but "to be." "I am the energy." "There is the experience there." Maybe she''s not as stupid as she sounds and she''s just speaking in dialect?

Too much to hope for, I suppose.

What was McCain thinking??????

Unfortunately, her choice just goes to reinforce the concerns that many in the GOP had about a McCain candidacy.

So many of you must really be threatend by Sarah Palin, insecurity and hatred spews comments like I see posted on this and other liberal sites. She will not set back womens movements and comments. You all think that having the right to have an abortion entitles you toooo what. Let me tell you.... first hand it leads you to a life of living hell. What seems to have been a good decision, or your right to choose at the time will stay in your mind & heart forever, unless you have no soul or conscience I have been down that road. Just like an easy fix to this economy, there is not a quick solution and we need to quit acting like temper tantrum two year olds. I do not know Obamma, but I don''t want him for my president but I would not say hateful things to embarrase him or better yet myself because I hope I am a bigger person that that. Also President Bush has made mistakes but not on his own. Who has the majority in the House and Senate? Most of them are also hate spewing voliatile and useless. This problem was starting over 10 years ago. Hmmm who was in charge then? Another mess this administration has had to endure. NOOO look the other way. Hopefully Obama and Biden will win you all deserve them.

One thing that most people have forgotten is that Sarah Palin''s audiences (those that she has given her stump speeches to) have been those who she appeals to , most are not highly educated or sophiticated. Her poor articulation is just like theirs and they like that. She plays to this kind of audience
The debate, however, will have a different audience. There will be no wild cheering, or loud laughter at her prepared jokes. This audience will be much better educated and certainly more sophisticated. This audience will be judging Palin on more than prepared answers. The McCain campaign need to include this factor into their debate camp.

Hmmmm..you probably forgot that the REPUBLICANS had control of the house and the senate the first six year of Bush''s administration. They lost that control for a reason. And ten years ago, the Republicans had control of the house and the senate, so I guess you can''t blame poor Bill for "all of it." I you want to base your entire political selections on abortion, that is your right. The rest of us are concerned about our country and will vote accordingly.

Pastdue1 I find it funny taht you say people who like or listen to Palin are uneducated, you soung lie a simpleminded personwho wants thr goverment to make all your decisions for you, can you even keep a job?? The debate should be great, Joe can talk about a president that wasnt even in office or realize there was no TV. We well educated people know the liberals want all kinds of programs and be their little robots without brains and rely on someone to take care of us because people nowdays have believe it is their, when in boils down to being lazy and looking for everything to be handed to them, after all it their right. I like Sarah Palin am nobodys puppet and with 20 years of hard work own a successful business. But as the saying goes I am voting republican and I work because not all of us can be on welfare.

I waited until I was more informed to judge. Palin has a very good track record in her state. Go to wikipedia and read their entry. It explains why McCain wanted her, though I will admit that he probably didn''t hear her voice. To be petty: Biden talks in a fairly modulated tone, so I guess Obama was paying attention to THAT, but he didn''t listen to content perhaps, that would explain why a reasonably (?) intellagent man would tell Katie that FDR jumped up and made a speech on TV after black tuesday. Or maybe Joe thought we were too young to know better.

Bimbo Reality Check. Palin says that she has been following the carer of Joe Biden since she was in the second grade. You might think that it is remarkable that she was following national politics when she was in the second grade and that she can still remember who she was watching. Until, that is, you realise that when she was in the second grade, she was 26 years old.

Katie,

I am sincerely appauled at your biased interviews. Its apparent that Sarah Palin does not know everything about foregin policy, economics, etc. although you evidently know nothing about ethics in journalism. Purposely sabotaging your interviewee does not buy you any votes. I hope you feel good about yourself, making someone purposely look bad in front of the world in order to get decent ratings (finally). How about the decency in Journalism... how about what goes around comes around?

It is truly sickening to watch the CBS Evening News as well as all the other biased news programs.

The unfair and negative tactics being used across the board by the media all day long is propaganda and transparent.

Katie, putting politics aside, you should be proud that a woman has reached this level but all you do is try to knock her down every chance you get. Katie, as a TV viewer, you look angry and speak with a condescending voice that you really aren''t pleasant to watch at all!

Will you be asking Sen. Joe Biden what his thoughts and position is on the "morning after pill"? and what is his position on homosexuality? Would be very interested in knowing what his deep and true feeling are on these issues that you raised. We heard Gov. Palin''s and looking forward to hearing Sen. Biden''s.

And another thought, it is really clear why the media and celebs seem to hate Gov. Palin...b/c they can''t hold a candle next to her!

She can stand tall for her convictions and beliefs because she lives by them. She''s not telling us to live by them, but she is.

As we all know, with the percentages of marriages gone ary,
the divorce rates, the children from different marriages, the abortions that were had...how can any of these people say they have any real values and put someone down who shows by example ! Isn''t this what we are to teach our children?

Stop the jealousy....it is sad.

America cannot be serious about Palin. The world is laughing, and it has nothing to do about media coverage, or who interviews her.

If by chance she becomes your President, the worlds leaders will be laughing, and your allies will be crying!

Bush has already screwed America''s allies over and now you could elect an old man, and this Palin???

Enough already!!!!!!

Don''t you think it''s scary to have a President of the US who is and has been a militant? Don''t let Nobama fool you..
He has already been quoted with saying there are 57 States. Yeah, 57 Islam States.

He didn''t even know the soldier''s name on the bracelet he was wearing until he looked at it!

Don''t you think his experience should entail a little bit more than being a community organizer?
Hey, I was a community organizer once too!

Can''t Nobama make a decision ??
He has more than 120 or so "present" votes..can''t seem to put his finger on it yet!

Very decisive..don''t ya think???

I think it''s scary.

The mindless Palin cheerleaders out out in force. They would be for the beauty contestant who speaks in tongues no matter what she has done or said. These are the people McCain wanted to energize and he can have them. But any person, including evangelists who can be objective for at least five minutes at a time rejects Palin as unqualified based on what she has said and and her record to date. This is why McCain is going down to defeat.
