Palin Holds First (Mini) Press Conference Outside Ground Zero

(NEW YORK) Sarah Palin took questions on Thursday from a small group of reporters in her first organized media availability since becoming the Republican vice presidential nominee.
Asked whether she agrees with the way the Bush administration has carried out the War on Terror, Palin said, “I agree with the Bush administration that we take the fight to them. We never again let them come onto our soil and try to destroy not only our democracy, but communities like the community of New York. Never again. So yes, I do agree with taking the fight to the terrorists and stopping them over there.”
Palin told her tour guides that her parents came to New York to work at the Staten Island landfill after the Sept. 11 attacks.
She took questions from reporters outside a firehouse after being led on a 20-minute tour of the “Tribute WTC 9/11” museum outside Ground Zero.
Update: During the media availability, Palin was asked whether she supports the candidacy of Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who is in the midst of a reelection fight and faces trial on corruption charges.
"Ted Stevens' trial started a couple of days ago,” Palin said. “We'll see where that goes."
