Palin Outlines Four-Point Focus In McCain Administration

Says She'll Focus On Energy, Reform, Special Needs Care, And Disease Cures

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(GOLDEN, COLO.) - For the first time since joining the Republican ticket, Sarah Palin outlined the issues she would focus on in a John McCain administration.

“John and I have worked out a plan—what I want to concentrate on and what he would like to kind of tap into me to help with, Palin said at a rally in front of a few thousand people here. “My mission is going to be energy security and government reform. And another thing near and dear to my heart, it’s going to be helping families who have special needs and children with special needs. And we’re going to be pushing for innovative cures for diseases.”

Palin has appeared in a string of large rallies since being named McCain’s running mate, and for the most part, she has doggedly stuck to her script. But in Monday’s Colorado appearance, she offered a host of new remarks, including a fresh line of attack against Barack Obama.

“Our opponent wants to raise income taxes and raise payroll tax and raise investment income taxes and raise business taxes and raise the death tax,” Palin said.

Obama has repeatedly stated that he wants to lower taxes for Americans making less than $250,000 a year.

Palin also addressed the ominous news out of Wall Street, saying that the “crisis is an issue of real concern.”

“I'm glad to see in this case the Federal Reserve and the Treasury have said no to using tax payer money to bail out another one,” Palin said. “ … Guys and gals, our regulatory system is outdated and needs a complete overhaul. Washington has ignored this. Washington has been asleep at the switch and ineffective and management on Wall Street has not run these institutions responsibly and has put companies and markets at risk.”

My goodness, look at the hate from the Angry Left. I wonder what made them like that? Wouldn''t it be a shame to live out your life in hate and envy, trying to drag everyone else down to your level?

So why they kick Obama off the show? Couldn''t he be funny?

other than calling for reform exactly what if she promising in the way of reform.... what type of regulations would she place on market speculators in energy or home mortgages? As they say the devil is in the details. I am waiting for the canned speeches to be over, enough with the glittering generalities. When will she answer questions either voters or more reporters? Obama has laid out each very detailed approach to the economy and middle-class tax cuts which can be read on this web site. in fact he wants to make Social Security more solvent by taxing folks who make over $250,000 who presently pay only on the first $105,000. Republicans and this includes McCain would like to privatize solstice security into individual retirement accounts that are played on Wall Street for their profits not ours.

If McCain and Palin were truly reformists they would not be running as the Republican Party Nominees because, the Republicans wouldn%u2019t have elected them to do so.

Vote out the corruption in Washington by voting out the GOP.

For two years the Democrats have had to opportunity to head off what we are looking at today. With control of the Congress and commitees, Reid and Pelosi could have worked with the mandate the country gave them two years ago, yet they now have a rating worse than Bush''s. In other words the Democrats have failed the American people, yet want us to give them the leadership of this country.

So what do we do?

I only hope McCain/Palin turn out to be serious reformists. History shows this to be yes, but they''re going to have to take on the ridiculously entrenched political establishment. God knows the corruption in Washington is killing us, the taxpayers. So far, these two are the only plausible candidates to offer any such hope to me.

When Government programs completely designed to assist certain precise sectors of Americans, Republicans always seem to claim %u201CLiberal entitlement hand-outs and wasteful government spending!%u201D But, when it comes to that one of their own can now relate to a need in our society all of sudden it%u2019s lets move forward with government spending on research and assistance.

GOP = Hypocrisy
