Obama Accuses McCain of Dishonesty in New Ad

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(CHICAGO) Barack Obama is taking the gloves off today and going after John McCain in a new ad called "Honor." The ad uses McCain’s own ads to argue that he is running a dishonest campaign.

“Honor” begins by quoting McCain, "I will not take the low road to the highest office in this land," but the narrator quickly chimes in, "What happened to John McCain?” After quoting a slew of newspaper editorials that call McCain’s ads, sleazy, dishonest, and deceiving, the narrator says, "It seems 'deception' is all he's got left."

The new ad comes just a day after GOP strategist Karl Rove said the McCain campaign has gone too far with some its ads.

“McCain has gone, in some of his ads, similarly one step too far in sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100 percent truth test,” Rove said yesterday on Fox News.

The DNC also launched a new web page today to counter claims made in McCain ads as well as on the campaign trail. The site, called “Count the Lies,” currently has 51 “fact checks” questioning McCain record and allegations he’s made against Obama.

McCain has trouble using a computer due to war inuries - so OBAMA AND BIDEN ATTACK VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES?

It is also disgusting how Obama and the DNC promote sexism - note his pat on his wife''s butt whenever she''s on stage, his regular use of "sweetie" and his total disregard of white women voters - "typical white women" has destroyed the democrats credibility. So - the only thing they can do - is attack a woman - Gov. Palin - to try to get pats on their good ole boys'' backs, or try to attack Sen. McCain''s HONOR - The DNC ticket is appalling - the democrats have shown they do not share the values of the average, hard-working middle-class and proud American - especially those who have sacrificed for their country.

Obama and the DNC are running the most disgusting campaign I have ever seen in 5 decades. It is repulsive.

Once again the american people are getting the blocking tactics from the right wings. Putting the negative spin on everything just to get our minds off the real issues we are faced with in this election. Obama is the only one who has tried to stay focused on the issues, but enough is enough. Our country is in trouble & on the verge of collapse. Yet even today MCCain made the statement that our economy is sound, but the govt is bailing out yet another banking firm. The taxpayers will pay once again for bad management, but the top guys will still get their bonuses, for what? As americans we need to be very careful of the MCCain/Palin ticket. He is the oldest person to run for office & if he dies, she steps in. If you do not think this is possible; you need to read up on the history of the presidency. Over half of our presidents have been brought into the office for which they were not elected, either through natural death or assassination. I don''t know about you but I certainly do not want someone running our govt with the only foriegn policy experence she has; is she can see Russia from where she lives. WAKE UP America & do your homework on this team. NO way, NO how, NO MCCain and NO Palin!!!!

Let''s not forget that a pit-bull whilst being a very aggressive dog is also a very stupid one. Ever seen them do any tricks requiring any intelligence ? no ?
Me neither.

But I think we are again facing a clear example of truth stretching ... I think chihuahua would have been a more suitable breed ? more accurate ? With some sort of genetic parrot mix ? What do u people think ?

The email issue of McCain is bogus.
There are voice activated computer programs for typing by voice. My assistant had one, when I was in a federal agency.
McCain knows so little of modern technology, he doesnt even understand the practical options available.
That''s why he is a weak candidate to lead the USA into the modern age of engineering and technology. He doesnt understand it at all.

The view of Palin as pit-bull was augmented last week as she came out for war against Russia.
Yes, Russia. "Oh, I would do that, if Russia goes back to Georgia", she said.
So perky. Any idea how many troops THAT would take? D R A F T.
Medvedev addressed her comments the next day and said Russia will not be deterred and that Palin''s ideas of having former socialist republics which border Russia, in NATO is not acceptable, that Russia has a need for a sphere of influence. She is not deterred either.
This means war.
And a losing proposition, a war with no supply lines, against a nuclear power on their turf.
Did Palin take history in college?
Please REGISTER and vote no to the PALIN wars in Russia. Yes wars. Two. Ukraine and South Ossetia/Georgia. Listen to the interview or read the transcript. WAR with Russia.
That''s our pit-bull. Actually, that''s a delusional candidate, who should be rejected by the vast majority of Americans if/when they find out.
WAR WITH RUSSIA. A DRAFT.
Two fronts, against Russia.
Insane? Armageddon?
VOTE OBAMA 2008. End the delusional campaign of Palin before she is running for President in 2012.

If you like Mc Cain, and respect his past service for the country, do him the biggest favor come voting day : send him home, send him to relax and to live his days in peace.

How do you think that a guy who doesn''t understand how to use the internet himself, can possibly understand the new order, the new structures, the way information moves, the way business is made, the way terrorist network function, the way the army of the future should be structured and organized, the way the economy of the future will function, if he can''t understand how the current one works ?

The information revolution that has happened in the past 20 years has passed him completely by. So what can he honestly perceive of what this means if he has not experienced the internet for himself ? Does he perceives it as a paperless sort of Fax exchange ? How can he perceive the change of consciousness that goes with it all ? The flat structure that the internet has created, the level playing field ? Does he know anything about social site and the way human interaction has changed ? Can he possibly perceive how the world functions in 2008 if he doesn''t understand the biggest revolution in human history since possibly the telegraph ? If he hasn''t experienced it for himself ?

Solutions can only emerge within the current systems around which our societies are now structured. So how could he possibly ever be a visionary, someone who will be a leader ? At best he will be faced with alternatives presented to him in a language he doesn''t fully understand, explaining structures he doesn''t understand, and trying to adjust to behaviors driven by streams and dynamics of consciousness he doesn''t understand.

So lets all do him a big favor : thank him for the quality of his outstanding contribution to the country, and send him home. Let''s not make him face issues he will just not be able to get his head around. The world has changed too much.

So If you truly love Mc Cain, come voting day, give him Peace. Send him home.

"(the truth is that McCain''''''''s combat wounds will not permit him to use a keyboard). " What a crock! Karl Rove said this yesterday on Fox "News". My wife happens to be an occupational therapist, and I know for a fact that computers are configured for use by people with injuries far more serious than McCain''s. Dennis Shulman, who is blind, is running for Congress in NJ, and HE can e-mail. Sorry, but you can''t use McCain''s war wounds as an all purpose Get Out of Jail Free Card.
