Palin's Husband Was Arrested In 1986 For DUI

Todd Palin, the husband of John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in 1986, CBS News confirms.

The Christian Broadcasting Network, which broke the story of Todd Palin's 1986 arrest, reports that Palin was behind the wheel of a truck in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over and arrested for the DUI.

Palin was 22 years old at the time of his arrest.

The news of Todd Palin's DUI arrest comes on the same day that Sarah Palin announced her 17-year-old daughter Bristol is pregnant.

I THINK, BUSH AS A REPUBLICAN HAVE FAILED THE AMERICANS FOR 8 GRACIOUS YEARS.
THE DEMOCRATS SHOULD BE ALLOWED FOR AT LEAST 4 YEARS OR MORE.
JOHN McCAIN AND SARAH PALIN SHOULD AS WELL VOTE FOR OBAMA-BIDEN TO SHOW THE LOVE THEY HAVE FOR AMERICA AND AMERICANS

If this is the best the Democrats can do at muckraking, they have lost the election.

You must be out of your mind. The DUI was over 20 years ago - 22 to be exact. Why does the media and politicians feel the need to dig so deep for dirt on a candidate or her/his family. I''m not even a Republican and I think it''s disgusting.

This is news because it shows that McCain makes rash JUDGEMENTS without first understanding all the consequences of his actions. It is not about the drinking, John does his share. It is about his choice for "Vice" President.

How is this news? Her daughter''s situation publically disclosed, and now this? One DUI when he was in his 20s. This is tabloid journalism at its worst.

It doesn''t matter whether it was the Christian News Network or The National Enquirer who broke the story, CBS shouldn''t have disseminated it. The candidates'' foibles are fair game, but to dredge up a 22 year old ticket on a candidate''s husband is beyond the pale. CBS and Conroy both abdicated on their responsibilities as supposed main stream media representatives.

Sarah Palin is a clear diversion and circus to distract from the real issues the Republicans are running away from.

I WISH THE MEDIA WOULD ASK BIDEN ABOUT HIS RACIST JOKES ABOUT EAST INDIANS WORKING IN 7-11''S OR HIS DESCRIPTION ABOUT OBAMA (A BLACK MAN) AS "CLEAN".

COULD YOU IMAGINE IF A REPUBLICAN VP CANDIDATE HAD SAID THE SAME THINGS...OYE VEY! YOU WOULD NEVER HEAR THE END IF IT.

IVE ALWAYS SAID THE MEDIA BIAS IN NOT SHOWN IS WHAT IS COVERED, ITS SHOWN IN WHAT IS NOT COVERED.

In addition to Earmarks as Governor including the bridge to nowhere already reported, Palin lobbied for earmarks as a mayor reportedly netting $1000 for every resident of her town in 2002 alone and almost $27 million in 4 years. No Reformers here.

McCain vetter claims Alaska Daily News was checked in the vetting process and all red flags have been divulged. Did the vetters miss the article about Palin''''s support of the earmark for the bridge to nowhere or did McCain''''s campaign deliberately choose to omit it to claim a reformer role for her at her VP announcement?

Asked whether everything that came up as a possible red flag during the review already has been made public, Culvahouse said: "I think so. Yah, I think so. Correct."

For Palin specifically, the team studied online archives of the state''''s largest newspapers, including the Anchorage Daily News, ...

As for the infamous "bridges to nowhere," MacDonald asked if the candidates would forge ahead with the proposed Knik Arm crossing between Anchorage and Point MacKenzie and Ketchikan''s Gravina Island bridge. Each has received more than $90 million in federal funding and drew nationwide attacks as being unnecessary and expensive. He also asked if they support building an access road from Juneau toward -- but not completely connecting to -- Skagway and Haines.

"I do support the infrastructure projects that are on tap here in the state of Alaska that our congressional delegations worked hard for," Palin said. She said the projects link communities and create jobs.

PALIN GETTING NEW McCAIN CAMPAIGN VETTING- AFTER THE FACT

NOW there are reports that McCAIN HAS SENT a team of ADDITIONAL "VETTERS" to Alaska TODAY. They will be investigating to find out what they should have discovered about Palin BEFORE McCain decided to make her his V.P. candidate.

A LITTLE LATE, ISN''T IT McCAIN?

Now it is coming out that McCain made a last minute "seat of the pants" decision to pick Palin. This came after Karl Rove vetoed Joe Lieberman, and the Evangelicals vetoed Tom Ridge. McCain "liked" Paliin, so he picked her without doing the background work.

Reports indicate that McCain campaign vetters arrived in Alaska ONLY ONE DAY before the decision to pick Palin was announced Friday. McCain met with her the FIRST TIME on Thursday, and OFFERED HER THE JOB ON-THE-SPOT.

This proves McCain is no where near ready to make critical decisions for this country. He failed to properly do the HOMEWORK before making his most CRITICAL decision to date. We do not need him deciding which war to start next.

PALIN REPEATEDLY LAUGHS AS CANCER SURVIVOR OPPONENT CALLED NASTY NAMES

YouTube Audio:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9AIDRGzUAw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKkydrUnBZE

Early THIS year, an op-ed in the Anchorage Daily News ripped into Gov. Sarah Palin''s appearance (1/15/08) on a morning "shock jock" radio show ("The Bob and Mark Show") as "plain and simple one of the most unprofessional, childish and inexcusable performances I''ve ever seen from a politician."

Palin has feuded with State Senate president, Lyda Green, over a wide range of legislation.

Lester referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer.

PALIN knows full well Lyda Green is a CANCER SURVIVOR, but didn''t do what any decent person would do, say, "Bob, that''s going too far."

Lester questioned Green''s motherhood, asking Palin if Green cares about her own kids.

PALIN LAUGHS.

Then Lester says, "Lyda Green is a cancer and a b*tch."

PALIN LAUGHS for the second time.

What were teenage boys and girls thinking when they heard the governor laugh at someone being called a b*tch? How about the teenage girls who look up to Palin? What did they think as she laughed?

But there is more. Lester then describes Green''s chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator''s weight.

PALIN LAUGHS a third time.

Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester''s vicious attack on Lyda Green. Then she says she''s "honored" by Lester and invites him to her official State of Alaska speech.

Now isn''t this something. Less than a week after McCain''s running mate has been selected, the news media has gone back 20 years to dig up dirt on her husband.

On the other hand, after 9 months of campaigning for President, you can''t find anything in the New York media about the "sweet deal" convicted racketeer Tony Rezko gave Obama on his real estate, or what Obama did for Rezko to earn such favor. There is nothing about OPEC lawyer Perry Sutton and OPEC banker Khalid Al-Monseur helping Obama get into Harvard. There is nothing about who paid his tuition and supported him while he was there, probably over $100,000 per year and clearly beyond the means of his grandparents. Bill Ayers is dismissed as just "a neighbor", but alternative media makes it look more like the old Weatherman bomber was a member of his "Kitchen Council". And then there is deafening silence about the man Obama himself identified as his teenaged mentor in Hawaii, card carrying Communist Party, USA member and pornographic autobiographer (pedophilia), Frank Marshall Davis.

If we want to go back 20 years to dig up dirt about Sarah palin''s husband, let''s be fair and find out if Frank Marshall Davis really was Barack Obama''s first lover.

PALIN and "ALASKA INDEPENDENCE PARTY"

The Alaskan Independence Party (AIP) believes:
-- Alaskans must vote for secession from the United States (can you say "49 states"?)

...

Palin belonged to the AIP before she decided to seek higher office.

The AIP supported Palin for Governor.

Just for Grins --

Remember the US bought Alaska from the Russians in 1867 for $7.2 million.

How would Alaska reimburse the US for its succession?

Would it be $7.2 Million PLUS improvements all inflation adjusted?

OR

Current Market Value?

And what would the terms be for that jumbo loan?

Her husband drove under the influence in 1986 in rural Alaska. Lots of people drove under the influence in 1986 that wouldn''t do it today.

Back then friends actually did let friends drive drunk. If he had a second arrest or injured someone this would have more relevance.
