Palin's Parents Told To Listen To Radio
From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s parents were called early this morning at their home in Wasilla and told to “listen to the radio” by Palin’s husband, Todd.*
Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, says he and his wife were caribou hunting when they were told to come home and tune into their local radio station to hear “exciting news,” but said he did not know if his daughter was the choice for John McCain’s vice president.
“The river was swollen, so we almost didn’t get back,” Palin’s mother, Sally Heath, told CBS News.
The two said they said the call was “a wonderful surprise.”
“I am shocked!” said Mrs. Heath.
*Correction: This post originally identified Palin's husband as Tim. His name is Todd.

Research why the American flag was taken off his plane before smear... please.
How''s it feel to pick someone based just on their gender/race, obamabushbots?
you just got pwned.
Congratulations!
For the comments on Sara''s ethics, I think she''s right on target. How could anyone remotely question her ethics when she has had the strength and courage to raise a disabled child? As far as gay marriages are concerned, I think you are walking on thin ice to be questioning someone''s ethics if they are opposed to it. Someone could easily argue your ethics for thinking it''s OK.
Go McCain for shaking things up a bit!!!
I am so excited after hearing
McCanns choice this morning !
As for the other team....I do not want my president elected on the basis of race and the backing by a talk show hostess...regardless of how much mnoney they each have !
Senator Obama''s great political fortunes return as once again during this election his opponent turns out to be a nincompoop. Senator McCain shows his political prowess is equivalent to that of Allan Keys -remember him, the non-Illinois token minority freak show the Republican Party sent to prevent Obama%u2019s election to the Senate. And now McCain picks a token female to woo disgruntled Clinton supporters, revealing just how stupid and superficial he and other Republicans think those supporters are -somewhere George Carlin is begging to be brought back to life to tell just a few more jokes. Yes, she%u2019s been a governor and mayor of the least-populated state -smaller than most US cities- and a tiny town, -I think they now have a stoplight though -and she%u2019s a moose hunter, a sports reporter and a beauty queen. A lifetime member of the NRA and chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission -Cheney approves. A BS in journalism-communication from Idaho -very prestigious; clearly no other education is required. Fully qualified, you betcha; to ruin Republican chances to keep the Presidency. She makes me yearn for Dan Quayle! Senator Joe Biden vs. Governor Sarah Palin, there%u2019s a wartime VP debate for the century. President-Elect Obama might as well start selecting his Cabinet%u2026Ding-dong, hello Mrs. Bush, I%u2019m Michelle Obama, would you mind if I came in to measure the drapes, thanks.

- Oh!!!! How wonderful. I was really worried ...Again we were going to have to vote against some one, like we have had to do in the last few elections. I hadn''t heard of Sarah Palin before now .... But when I heard his announcement of his running mate, I was so impressed with her speech. Not because she is a woman ,but because of merit ,qualification. But that it is a woman is also wonderful. I feel she can do the job as well can''t wait to hear more from her and more about her and her abilities. At this time she has a lot of good attributes that we can see right away. This is so exciting. I wasn''t looking forward to voting , tho I was going to vote McCain ...but now I am . They will make a great team and she will balance out the age thing with John McCain. This is going to be a very exciting election year. I believe the Messiah has been taken down off his pedistool and is very shaken up by this pick. And Hillary too. Dems are not happy campers about this turn of events. Yea!!!! Good Choice
