Politico: McCain Has Selected His VP

Sen. John McCain has chosen his running mate, whom he will notify on Thursday, a senior McCain campaign official told The Politico’s Mike Allen.

McCain is planning to roll out his VP choice in a large rally in Dayton, Ohio, at noon on Friday, followed by join appearances in Pennsylvania and Missouri, sources said.

Over the past few days, the media’s focus has been narrowed to three potential options for McCain: former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman.

Romney seems to have garnered the most attention, in light of Barack Obama’s selection of Joe Biden as his number two. Romney is thought to have the ability to hold his own against the Delaware senator, who is known for his formidable debating skills. But the controversy over McCain’s failure to state off the top of his head how many houses he owns could mean that picking Romney—a multimillionaire businessman with four houses of his own—would open the Republican ticket to charges of being out of touch.

Sources close to the McCain campaign have indicated that Lieberman, an independent Democrat, is very much in the running. But choosing a pro-abortion rights senator who caucuses with the Democrats could leave next week’s Republican convention in upheaval.

The Republican Party that has destroyed the USA over the last 8 years is not the same Party of the past.

The Republican Party of 2008 needs held accountable for the many misdeeds of 8 years, then spanked by losing the election, and then as a result they possibly will mend the error of their fiscally irresponsible ways. No way will I vote for McCain regardless of whom he nominates.

As a Democrat I relish his only choice, Mitt Romney. They hate each other. And two guys worth more than $100 Million apiece? These wealthy elitists have no idea what everyday Americans go through. They just think they do.

For Obama to be so inexperienced and lacking in judgment. . .I find it ironic, even funny that McCain calls Barack a celebrity but McCain is the one that has always chomped at the bit to get on late night talk shows and Saturday Night Live. Except for "maybe" the troop surge, McCain has been wrong or silent on the issues. He has to level personal attacks out of jealousy. Why. . . because the decisions that Obama are making are substantially on target.

Romeny''s out. That''s the word I''m getting, rumors to be sure, but I believe it. But don''t put too much credence in that line of bull about Romney''s owning too many homes compared to the McCains. McCain supposedly wants to win. Romney won 11 primary states and was second only to McCain in popular votes. And he can guaratee McCain Maine and Michigan. Sad to see that Marsha Blackburn didn''t make it to the VEEP final three or four.

Pawlenty''s the only semi-conservative left out of Ridge and Lieberman. Thus, I''m betting it''s Pawlenty, the fallen bridge Governor!

Of what ???,,,AMERICA ???

Must be ANOTHER John McCain around.

Another AMERICA ??!! ,,That''s it There''s another AMERICA !!

Hear they got one down below the Mason-Dixon line,,,,I betcha THAT''s the America wanting to elect THIS John McCain as their president!!

But what''s wrong with that ???

We''ll have President Obama up here.

They''ll have President McCain down there.

If there are any problems Obama
could just install a missile defense site close the the MD lin.

But, no, the only possible problem would be with The Other American
immigrants sneaking across the line
to work and send money back to their families so that Uncle Homer has the where-with-all to continue his coming up with newer and better rug beaters.

McCain is a hero, but he does not inspire or instill future hope for the American public. This used to be the Republican trademark. Over the last 8 years the Republican brand has been damaged big time. Due to the Bush / Chaney nightmare.

McCain for the sake of the party, your only hope is to - divorce your love fest with Bush/Chaney and their energy and Black Water lobbyists. Then pick a female as V.P. to target females. Oh ya! pray

During the last 8 years, Clinton, Edwards, Obama, Kerry, Kennedy to name a few democrats have benefited tremendously from those Bush tax cuts. If they thought cutting the tax rate was such a terrible thing, why not pay taxes at the same rate they did during the Clinton years? The truth is that during the Bush years the stream of revenue increased to the federal government. The big problem has been that Bush spent like a crazy man which doesn''t match the word "conservative" at all. The focus should be how to raise more money and how to cut expenses, but instead the dems are proposing to cut the revenue and raise taxes to pay for yet some more entitlement programs. Colin Powell was duped on the Iraq war, and voters YOU and I are being duped by the rhetoric coming from the democratic party that a healthcare plan, tax on carbon emissions, income redistribution is the path the US needs to take. Creating jobs means improving the business environment not hampering it by taxing it more. The path the dems want is really a left leaning socialist plan that will not work for this country.

How do you think Mike Huckabee feels about this?

Is McClone afraid to pick Huckabee because Huckabee told the truth about McClone?

Is McClone afraid to have a God-fearing preacher know his thoughts?

Let''s all send a condolence card to Mike Huckabee. Maybe Gloria Allred can take up his case for him.

I''ve heard this before but specifically how is McCain a "hero", and btw I''m speaking as a non-hero ex-serviceman who served the same time McCain served.

McCain crashed 5 military planes at enormous cost to taxpayers. That tells me he is incompetent.

Yes he spent over 5 years as a POW but that doesn''t make him a hero. He claims that he refused offers of freedom from his captors. Actually had he taken their offer he would have faced court martial charges for disobeying a standing order. The senior ranking officer at the camp had already issued an order that acceptance of offers of freedom will be only on the basis of seniority.

HEARS A FUTURE GLIMPSE OF LORD OBAMA PRESIDENCY.

Someone needs to tell Obama we have freedom of speech still in america, he isnt president yet!

%u201CHaving failed in its attempts to get our legal, factual and fully-supported ad off the air, Barack Obama%u2019s campaign now wants to put our donors in prison for exercising their right to free speech," said Ed Martin, American Issues Project%u2019s president. %u201CThese over-the-top bullying tactics are reminiscent of the kind of censorship one would see in a Stalinist dictatorship, with the only difference being that those guys generally had to wait until they were in power to throw people who disagreed with them into jail.%u201D

In addition to two letters sent to the Department of Justice asking the government to investigate American Issues Project, its officers, board of directors, and donors, the Obama campaign has been contacting stations running American Issues Project%u2019s ad in an unsuccessful attempt to compel them to pull the spot. With no success on either front, the campaign has also begun running its own ad in response. Notably, this ad fails to dispute a single fact in the American Issues Project%u2019s initial ad.

It has been reported that John McBush McCain has chosen his VP running mate and will reveal that person to expectant neocon Fascist Nazi Republicans everywhere on Friday.

It is rumored that he has chosen Phyliss Diller!!!!

Believing that since Obama is such a "celebrity" (according to McCain''s own ads!), and that McCain himself is already somewhat of a "celebrity" appearing on every late night show in production, that his VP should also be a "celebrity" who is also well known!

Besides, since he is running on the usual reliable neocon Fascist Nazi program of "FEARRRRR!!!", the addition of Diller on the ticket would strike FEARRRRR into the most fanatical "terrrrrrorist" out there, as well as any Liberals, Progressives, Whimpo-crats, and anyone else interested in preserving the environment and protecting the Constitution from neocon Fascist Nazi "improvements!"!

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!!

If one can win an election by being a POW, then McCain will win--however there are thousands of troops from WWII to current who have been POW''''s and some walking around without limbs, with brain injuries and a vast array of medical problems, BUT they are''''t using that to promote themselves.
My uncle got shot up in Korea, had a purple heart---he had silent pride--as do many.

So you go ahead and vote for someone because he keeps repeating his POW experience (Songbird John), I''''ll vote for someone who has plans and ideas for all Americans to make us the USA we have always been proud of!!!

I read the republican platform includes provision for the continuation of the Bush administration''s abusive interpretation of executive power which allowed them to lie to us, hide the truth, and then hide from penalties for their misdeeds. If McCain were truly a maverick he would not allow this, but he has shown, once again, he is just a continuation of Bush, Rove, and Cheney.
