Obama Plans Trip To Bayh's Indiana On Saturday?

Updated: Barack Obama’s campaign is neither confirming nor denying reports that the candidate has a stop planned in Indianapolis on Saturday – the day he is widely anticipated to appear with his vice presidential running mate for the first time.

The Nashville Post reported earlier that Obama’s planned trip to Indianapolis included a "major event," adding that Obama operatives are being called in from around the country to attend.

CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder confirmed the visit and CBS News’ Maria Gavrilovic reports that the campaign is officially not confirming or denying the plans despite other reports citing campaign officials saying it is not accurate.

CBS News previously reported that Obama plans a major rally with his newly announced running mate in Springfield, Illinois, on Saturday at the site where Obama launched his presidential campaign.

As a cautionary note, Obama’s schedule has been filled with tantalizing clues to his VP selection this week. He’s visited states like New Mexico (Gov. Bill Richardson) and will be in Virginia tomorrow (Gov. Tim Kaine), and Indiana remains a potential swing state regardless of who is selected.

Obama plans to announce his selection first in e-mail and text messages to supporters.

Hopefully Bayh will have too much class to hook up with this loser. Besides, he should leave himself available to be Hillary''s running mate.

ah....I can''t believe I didn''t think of this. The reason why myself and none of my family or friends have been polled is because we''ve all done away with our home phones and only have cell phones. They say it''s only young people that aren''t polled but i''m 45 and my friends are all in that age bracket or above. Wonder who all they''re missing.....

wow if Indiana is in play the Republican fall is worse than I thought--Indiana has not gone for a Democrat President candidate in a very long time.

Thank God this will all be over next week when the race for the the White House really begins. For those of you still thinking that Obama will actually be running against McCain....think again, read the polls, take a reality check. The Democratic nominee will be the person who won the popular vote in the Primarys. Still don''t believe me??? Ask yourself, Do you REALLY think the Democratic Leadership is as dumb as the diehard Obama supporters???

According to the latest pools, the US Congress has an approval rating of only 13%. The Dems are running it, so guess who the voters will blame?

Just goes to show all of us until we get a real working person who struggles with everyday life and has to live from check to check things are not going to change.The ones we have now are so rich that the price of gas,food,etc.they can not comprehend or even understand the problems we deal with.

You may just get your wish even if Mr. Kaine isn''t offered the number 2 spot, because I''m sure Mr. Obama can find positions for these top-tier vice-presidential candidates in his administration. I''ll cross my fingers for you and the State of Virginia, good-luck.

Sorry guys and gals..have to run. It''s been fun. We are conducting more research on what went wrong in Bush''s brain and it looks like it going to take at least the rest of the year. Then next on the agenda is "What is John McCain Suffering from that Causes his Strange Statements and and Lack of Ability to Speak more than One Sentence Without Going Brain Dead". Primilinary research leads us to believe there was something in that birthday cake that John and George where eating while the folks in New Orleans were dying during Katrina.
