Polls, Polls, Polls

No less than four new polls out today shine some light on where the public stands demographically and on several hot topics related to the presidential campaign.

The most significant numbers appear to come from a Quinnipiac/Wall Street Journal/Washingtonpost.com poll, which shows John McCain gaining ground in four key swing states. Most notably, the poll shows McCain edging ahead in Colorado and narrowing the gap in Michigan, two states that may prove most critical to the Republican's chances in November.

There is also some encouraging news for the Obama campaign, as a new Pew Hispanic Center poll may allay concerns about the Democrat's strength with Hispanic voters. The poll shows Obama owning a massive lead over McCain among Hispanics (66 percent to 23 percent).

Though the Obama campaign has attempted to put to rest false rumors that the Illinois senator is a Muslim, a Fox News poll shows that only 57 percent of respondents say Obama is a Christian, while one in ten believe he is Muslim and a full 27 percent are unsure.

Finally, a Pew Research poll shows that nearly two out of three Democrats and Republicans think it was inappropriate for the New Yorker to publish its cover satirizing Obama and his wife Michelle as America-hating radicals.

A written prayer that Barack Obama left this week in the cracks of the Western Wall, Judaism%u2019s holiest site, asks God to guide him and guard his family, an Israeli newspaper reported Friday.

%u201CLord %u2014 Protect my family and me,%u201D reads the note published in the Maariv daily. %u201CForgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.%u201D

Obama has minimal government experience, an anti American Pastor as a mentor, many co workers that are radical leaders, a non practicing Muslim father and an Atheist as a mother. Obama is a fast talker, flip flopper and a racist man running for President: The media and the authorities should be investigating this man.

Just knowing that Louis Farrakhan, anti Semitic, radical, Nation of Islam leader supports Obama should be enough to make our hair stand up on end.

Minimal government experience? Who cares. Abraham Lincoln had minimal experience (1 senate term) before taking office. I am so sick of hearing that argument.

You mention that he is a flip-flopper. Prove it.

Also, If Louis Farrakhan supported YOU, what exactly could you do about it? Obama has no control over who supports him and who does not.

Why don''t you post something with substance instead of all the negative "spin" with nothing to back it up. Your post is nothing more than character assasination.

6:33 p.m.: The tens of thousands of Obama fans are being entertained as they await the senator. The reggae musician Patrice kicked things off, followed by the rock band Reamonn.
I''''m sure this will be part of ALL media reports concerning this speech...not!

It would appear, judging by the news reports, that the crowd stuck around for the speech - so what is your point??

When can the American people expect an apology from CBS News for the editing of McCain''''s remarks to cover his gaffe on the Anbar Awakening - another one of McCain''''s senior moments? Two days gone by and still counting?

Wouldn''t look for that anytime soon, Kate. CBS news is no longer a viable news organization, I will get my news from another source.

Sounds to me like Republicans are scared silly and don''t know what to do with themselves these days. It is hilarious just reading all their desperate yells for help. It seems as though they know their candidate, John McSame, has no chance of winning so they in turn have no hope. Has anyone noticed they have nothing good to say about John McSame but all they do is whine and attack Obama? The Republican Party...home of the whiners, blah, blah, blah. Here is some good news on John McCain while out at a German restuarant in Ohio yesterday six people showed up....Listen we all know the enthusiasm for John McCain barely breaks the teens so the few that are on this board are the few included. Their voice is small and worthless......just trying to save you guys some time.. as for the Faux News poll...don''t make me laugh!

What is wrong with the Media? Why can''t they investigate all of Obama''s stories and keep making an issue about them. He''s applying for the most challenging job in the "world".

Thank God McCain has the courage to stand up for Americans with his ads.

Just one of many issues surrounding Obama is enough for me and my community.

Watch Louis Farrakhan and his followers:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7QUftErt_M

Farrakhan held a rally with 20,000 Islam members in Chicago just a few months ago.

Obama is risky and scary. The media should be talking about Obama''s relationships with radical leaders and anti American supporters as much as they should be reporting about a nominee that was being supported by the KKK.

Will Media Report Concert Before Obama''s Berlin Speech?

Remember back in May when media gushed and fawned over a huge crowd in Portland, Oregon -- supposedly gathered to hear the words of Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama -- but chose not to report the free concert given before his speech?
Well, it has been learned that before the presumptive Democrat nominee spoke to a crowd in Berlin Thursday, two popular German acts -- reggae artist Patrice and rock band Reamonn -- entertained the gathering audience.
Will media report this tonight, or just gush and fawn over the huge crowd again?
While you ponder, here''s what was reported by Spiegel Online moments ago (h/t Hot Air and Gateway):
+ Pop Concert for Obama Fans
6:33 p.m.: The tens of thousands of Obama fans are being entertained as they await the senator. The reggae musician Patrice kicked things off, followed by the rock band Reamonn.
I''m sure this will be part of ALL media reports concerning this speech...not!

Hopefully Obama will start running some ads soon - exposing the corrupt nature of McCain. McCain has been spending money like a drunken sailor (or a republican congress).

I think CBS has now had enough time to apologise for committing fraud by editing out McCain making blatant errors in his supposed strong suit. Well done, guys.. you are well on the way to losing an entire generation of viewers. Even the baby boomers are starting to smell a rat in the mainstream media.
What worries me is this: how many other edits have taken place in the past, without being busted?
In the final analysis, CBS cannot be trusted any more.

Kate, CBS is not going to admit anything intentional to help McCain.
They said it was "a mistake" that they covered up for his Alzheimer''s moment, using his stock attack speech against Obama, in the place of his actual words and errors.

The right wing propaganda machine is whining because Obama has put together a transition team for if he wins the presidency. The right wing considers it presumptuous. I consider it adult to do planning since winning the presidency is the objective of all this effort, so why not plan ahead? If Karl Rove had an exit strategy for Iraq, he would still be employed in the White House.
Being incapable of planning is not an endearing quality in leaders. Certainly trying to characterize as "too soon" the planning of the opponent is merely an indication of both jealousy and incompetence on the part of the McCain campaign. They had hit men writing that Obama should not have spoken to a big crowd in Berlin because Hitler spoke in Berlin.
Gee, if McCain only speaks to ten people in a donut shop, is that the new requirement for everyone from now on? Grow up right wingers, and leave off the commentary on adult behavior.
Some people do make plans and wont get us into a war with no exit strategy.

It''s not about the polls at this stage, it''s about the MSM wetting their pants over Mr. Obama in the Middle East and Europe. Too bad the folks in Germany and Afghaninstan can''t vote in our election in November. Hello...

I have reached that point in a campaign when I am bored out of my skull. I don''t care what the politicians are saying. I don''t care ehere Obama and McCain stand in the polls.

What I do care about is shortening the campaign to two months with compulsory tarring and feathering of anyone who cheats.
