Veepstakes Watch

The question of the summer remains who Sens. McCain and Obama will pick to be their running mates. But almost as important as who the presumptive nominees choose will be when they choose them.

It's a question that doesn't have an easy answer for either campaign, especially since the Olympics figure to steal a lot of attention for the two weeks before the conventions. As The New York Times reports, McCain might have the advantage of waiting to see who Obama picks first before making his selection.

Wednesday morning brings some changes on both the Democratic and Republican sides of the CBSNews.com VP Hot Sheets

Among the Democratic vice presidential hopefuls, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius received some especially warm praise from Obama, but Hillary Clinton maintains the top ranking after her performance in Unity.

And on the Republican side, Mitt Romney's buzz meter cranks up a notch thanks to a Politico scoop, and a couple of lesser known contenders move up on the list.

As the Olympics are beginning on 8-8-8, I think it''s highly symbolic that this is the esoteric/Gnostic number for Christ. When viewed in th light of so many predictions of China aligning with the Islamic countries against the west, We as a nation and a people should take these Olympics with opportunity in mind to reach out and make bonds of lasting friendship and brotherhood with the Chinese people.

I agree with everything Obama said about Kathleen Sebelius.
She would be the perfect choice. I know she doesn''t have
the foreign policy experience, but I think he could probably
choose Kathleen if, at the same time, he announces his main
Cabinet positions and they include a boat load of foreign policy
experts (see main cabinet positions below).
Also, I thought foreign policy was the job of the President,
Secretary of Defense (hopefully Colin Powell or Jim Webb)
and the National Security Advisor (hopefully Susan Rice,
Samantha Power, or Anthony Zinni.) Also, I think it''s crazy
that Hillary supporters think that no other women need apply,
because if it''s not Hillary than no other woman can or should
be vice president. That''s nuts, and a little sexist I think.
Wouldn''t it be a good thing that a woman other than Hillary
would be in a position to be the first female president
some time soon?

President: Barack Obama
Vice President: Kathleen Sebelius
Secretary of State: Joe Biden
Chief of Staff: David Plouffe
Attorney General: John Edwards.
Secretary of Defense: Jim Webb
National Security Advisor: Colin Powell
Secretary of Veteran Affairs: Max Cleland
Homeland Security: Lee Hamilton
Treasury: Michael Bloomburg
Labor: David Bonior
Health and Human Services: Hillary Clinton
Education: Jim Hodges
HUD: Bill Bradley
