Obama: Republicans Using Terrorism to Win Elections

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama fired back at criticism of his anti-terrorism policy by high level McCain advisors today, accusing them of politicizing the issue and drumming up fear in order to win elections.

“What they are trying to do is what they’ve done every election cycle which is to use terrorism as a club to make the American people afraid, to win elections, that’s what they’re trying to do,” Obama told reporters on a flight to Washington D.C.

Earlier today, John McCain’s foreign policy advisors called Obama’s plans to combat terrorism a “policy of delusion” and a “perfect manifestation of a September 10th mindset.”

As he has done many times on the stump, Obama argued that Republican strategy post-Sept. 11 has made the United States less safe. He said, “These are the same guys who helped to engineer the distraction of the war in Iraq at a time when we could’ve pinned down the people who actually committed 9/11,” adding that Osama bin Laden is still at large.

Obama called for a bipartisan consensus on combating terrorism, arguing that the country should not be divided on the issue. “We’ve got to stop trying to play political games with them,” Obama said, “and that’s what we’ve been doing for the last 8 years and that’s part of why the country’s been so divided around issues where we shouldn’t be divided.”

There is an imaginary line between what Obama is saying and what people will accept as truth. He better be careful not to trip over it because if he does, he''''ll be finished.

That is exactly right. They have used that fear to undermine the constitution, drag us into an immoral war, and attack anyone''s patriotism that doesn''t agree with them. They Republicans have become the party of the dispicible.

You neo-cons are really unable to use one part of your body...Brain! If Bush had to give out falsified data to drag us into war with IRAQ then what''s the war with Iraq got to do with fighting Bin Ladin? It was a smoke screen created to fool the American people to think that the Bush Adminstration is actually taking action bombing some country that didn''t attack us in the first place!!

May 15th: Robert Wexler (D-FL): "Generals started finally listening to Obama''s suggestions%u201D
when he argued that Musharraf could not openly give permission for targeted strikes for fear of being assassinated.

1. August 2007 debate: Obama makes vocal case for striking terrorists inside Pakistan
"Let me make this clear: There are terrorists holed up in those mountains, that murdered 3,000 Americans,...If we have actionable intelligence about high-valued terrorist targets and if President Musharraf will not act, we will."
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=3458915

2. McCain, Hillary, Dodd, Biden all criticize him saying we should not be working against Musharraf our only advocate in the region

3. December 2007: Bhutto assassinated by terrorists

4. The Washington Post reported that in late January, a CIA aircraft fired on several buildings in the Pakistani town of Mir Ali, killing a senior al-Qaida commander and several others. The paper, quoting anonymous U.S. officials, said that the action was done without seeking approval from the Pakistani government.

5. Mid February ''08, Musharraf voted out of power; US has spent $11B trying to prop. up Musharraf

I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community,%u201D said Obama. So then it is clear that Obama believes that Wright%u2019s ideas represent the black community and black experience in America when they represent only the radicalized fringe of black America that wants to aid America%u2019s enemies abroad. It is doubtful many black Americans who served proudly in the US military feel the same as Wright on this issue.
%u2028What is more, militant Islamists see a potential to sow internal problems and promote their fascist goals in the US by trying to divide the American black community against the US government. Whereas blacks have been exploited in the past, this is now seen as a way to achieve the goals of expanding the Muslim ummah inside the US from in the Middle East. That is why Libya gives money to Farrakhan and why the ISM and Sabeel work with Reverend Wright whose personal interpretations of Christianity are entrenched in Obama%u2019s mind as the True Word of Christianity. Wright actually visited Mohammar Ghaddafi in Libya with Farrakhan in the past.

To obama8years,

first of all Reverend Wright was a U.S. Marine. Secondly, don''t change the subject.

The subject is basic human right and us not sinking down to the same levels as those who would take those rights away from us. Furthermore, how can we know who''s a terrorist and who isn''t when there is no way to defend themselves. True Americans believe in being innocent till proven guilty.

And as an independent who is leaning towards Obama although I haven''t made up my mind truly I say to TruUSA...get over it. Even if Clinton had gotten her way in Michigan she still would not have won (look at the numbers)

So the Republicans are using fear of terrorism to win elections, huh?

GOOD!!!

The Republicans understand the threat and know that despite the fact that we haven''t been hit again since 9/11/01, the threat remains very, very real.

Barack Obama and the Democrats would, apparently, prefer to bury their heads in the sand, pretend that the threat doesn''t exist, and hope for the best. After all, haven''t they been the ones clamoring to tuck tail and run from Iraq for the past four years?

God help us if this lightweight Obama actually gets elected as our president. We will truly be in deep s**t.

Vote McCain. Please.

Obama uses everything to win votes.

He has turned people against their President and country.

He has made them believe what he says is true.

He uses mind control, mind manipulation and all proven techniques know to work on people.

His speeches, catch phrased, slogans, incorporating religion. All used to manipulate the minds of America. Sending his youth out, using the media, the radio, internet, personal appearance, with know mind manipulation and mind control programs know to work.

Getting people to turn on their leaders, their government, the troops and all he commands.

Instilling in their mind, he is the only one who can help them, only one who cares, Only one who can change anything and give them all he promised them.

Twisting facts, tell half truths, lying and condemning and blaming everyone else. Convincing them they are their enemy.

Acting like he is a nice guy, telling them his religion is in all he does. He cares about them and will only do good for them.

Having his catch phrases and slogans everywhere for reinforcement for the mind manipulation.

He fails to tell them the truth, that everything he proposes is impossible with out socialism.

Apart from having a father who is Muslim that left him at the age of two what other proof do you have that he is a Muslim? All DEMs don%u2019t Like OBAMA. On the same day Democratic leaders stressed party unity after the drawn out primary fight, one congressional Democrat said Tuesday he will not endorse Barack Obama''s bid for the White House.

Rep. Dan Boren, Oklahoma''s lone Democrat in Congress, told the Associated Press Obama is "the most liberal senator," and said he has to listen to the wishes of his own constituents.

"We''re much more conservative," Boren said of his rural district which stretches across the eastern part of the state and borders Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas.

Boren also said Obama''s record "does not reflect working in a bipartisan fashion."

Voters should take DEMs to the cleaners in 2008 like they did to GOP in 2006. Here''s the list of corrupt DEMs - Jim McGrevey - Former NJ GOV, Elliott Spitzer - former NY Gov, Acevado - Puerto Rico Gov, Kilpatrick - Det Mayor, Jefferson - LA congressamn, Blagojevich - IL Gov. Chris Dodd %u2013 CT Sen %u2013 (favorable loan from Wells Fargo) %u2013 Laura Richardson (CA-D) %u2013 defaulted on at least 3 CA homes and got Wash Mutual to reverse the sale after the fact. Obama should be proud. Where''s all the media reports claiming a Culture of Corruption in Democrativ Party? Hmmm? Seems like we had endless stories in 2006 when it was GOP turn. The media is truly disgraceful.
