McCain Attacks Obama's Foreign Policy

(CBS)

From CBS News’ John Bentley:

Calling Barack Obama naďve and inexperienced, John McCain sharpened the Republican criticism that President Bush alluded to earlier today. “Why does Barack Obama want to sit down with a state sponsor of terrorism?” McCain asked today, referring to Obama’s willingness to negotiate with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad. “What does he want to talk about with Ahmadinejad, who said that Israel is a stinking corpse, who said that he wants to wipe Israel off the map, who is sending the most explosive devices into Iraq, killing Americans.”

While not mentioning Obama directly, Bush had harsh words for those who would negotiate with rogue states. “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the president said at a celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary. “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is – the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

McCain did not call Obama an appeaser, either, but did say he believed Obama needed to further explain his views. “I think Barack Obama needs to sit down and explain why he wants to talk with the man who is the head of a government that is a state sponsor of terror,” McCain said. “I will make this issue with Sen. Obama throughout this campaign, I believe in peace through strength and peace through strength is the way that we have succeeded in the past.”

Obama called Bush’s statements a “false political attack.” “Instead of tough talk and no action, we need to do what Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan did and use all elements of American power - including tough, principled, and direct diplomacy - to pressure countries like Iran and Syria,” Obama said. “George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel.”

NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY THE DNC

Action speaks louder than words. I was on another

web site last night and the Hillary supporters were

talking about REGISTERING AS REPUBLICANS AND NOT

COMING BACK TO THE PARTY UNTIL HILLARY GETS THE

NOMINATION.

This way it would be harder for the DNC to just

brush us off by saying we''ll eventually all rally

around Obama......No Way, Nobama!

I''m going tomorrow and register as a Republican. If

you''re not already registered as a Democrat, you can

first register as a Democrat and a day or two later,

register as a Republican. It will show up as a lost

member on the Democratic Membership Roll by the

end of the week.

Sounds like a plan to me!!

I can prove that the Republicans are making fools out of the Blacks.

The stuff that Obama admitted to in the two books he

wrote is enough to lose him the election. But has

anyone heard anything about either of these writings

by a major National Television Station????

NO! Because they are setting on it until Hillary is

out of the picture and Obama will lose the Presidency

by the largest margine yet. And anyone who can''''t

see that and continues to believe otherwise after

reading those two books are being FOOLISH!!!!

92% of the Blacks vote for Obama and that''s not racist.

55% of the Whites vote for Clinton and thats racist.

Michelle and Obama whine when the going gets rough.

They constantly remind us about how Obama is going to save the world and how only Obama can do that.

The White media is constantly kissing his Black Azz.

Even the Democratic Leadership gives them every break you can think of.

My disqust is turning to nauseousness.
How much more of this can a reasonable person take???

Howard Dean is doing everything he can to get Obama in the White House. One would think his
job depended on it. (snicker)

This issue(?) is best addressed in Obama''s own words:

Obama said. %u201CGeorge Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president''s extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel.%u201D

Reagan quote:

The Soviet Union is the evil empire.

Hours later Reagan was en-route to the Soviet Union to meet with our foes. The end result brought an end to the cold war!

Bush is absolutely 100% right. You cannot negotiate with those who wish to destroy you. The radical Islamists and terrorists view any kind of diplomacy as a weakness that is to be exploited and used against their enemies. Kudos to Bush for his support of Israel. Masada will not happen again!

Obama is inexperienced and has to many negatives to be president. I am a Democrat and will never vote for Obama if he succeeds in getting the nomination. His wife is unhappy to be an American until just a while back. Go McCain

How silly, dialogue or talking to someone does not mean negotiating or compromise or even giving into their demands, it means opening up lines of communication. That is the only way to discern where people are, what they want and what helps to create perception.

In the end, one may still have to go to war, impose sanctions or threaten a country--but these 3 acts should be of last resort not the first tools of intelligent countries.

The first tool is communication. Talking is one implement in that arsenal, it MUST be done. IF it had been done in regards to Iraq, we might have already learned there were no real WMD, and Saddam might have learned Bush really would invade and destroy his country.

But alas--we acted first and did not truly communicate--now we are caught in the aftermath.

''''Sweetie'''' was in Obama''''s subconscious about women or it would never have come out of his mouth. That is disgusting and disprectful to women.

Calling someone ''sweetie'' is disgusting? lol. Women everywhere I''m sure are outraged. In your world, women must go crazy with this type of disgusting behavior during Valentine''s day.

McCain''s basic lack of understanding about the situation in Iraq and on the economy automatically disqualify him from being Presidential material.

McCain quotes:

%u201CAl Qaeda is going back into Iran and is receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran.%u201D

Do you really think that it''s "disgusting" to women, or is this just another distraction from the issues which we as a country face?
