Following Loss, Obama Trots Out New Supers

Barack Obama's campaign has been trying hard to limit the damage from the Democratic frontrunner's big loss in West Virginia, conceding the race in advance and suggesting it should be considered a good showing if Obama secured just 20 percent or more of the vote in the state. (He did – but still lost by 41 percentage points.)

Now comes the day after strategy: The campaign is offering up evidence that no matter what happened on Tuesday, the superdelegates and endorsements are still flowing Obama's way.

The morning the campaign announced the two most recent superdelegates to commit to Obama: Rep. Peter Visclosky of Indiana and Democrats Abroad chair Christine Schon Marques, who counts as half a superdelegate.

The Wall Street Journal also notes that Obama has secured the endorsements of three former chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission, one of whom served under President Bush. They join Fed Chairman Paul Volcker, who endorsed Obama earlier this year.

Howard Dean is doing everything he can to get Obama in the White House. One would think his
job depended on it. (snicker)

I am a PROUD white, middle class, 54 year old Barack Obama Supporter who, will...if necessary vote for Hillary Clinton even though I don''''t much like her tactics. Doing what''''s best for the Country should ALWAYS come first.

It is because you and people like you will vote for the Dem nominee no matter what--that HRC has her strongest argument for staying in the race, for trying any tactic and for arguing that she is the most electable.

She first knows she can do anything and you will swallow it, like a good party follower.

Second, she tells the sd--that HER supporters will leave if she does not get the nom, but Obama''s will dessert him for her if he loses--so that means she is more electable.

Finally, remember that little remark about Hillary willing to do or say anything to get elected? When you will support the Dem nominee no matter what, aren''t you doing anything to get your side elected? Why abhor her tactics if you plan to reward them with a vote? Guess what? Rewarding her tactics this year means the Dems will now be down and dirty like the Republicans for now on--because the new standard is "anything for a win" and the new voter standard is --reward the one who does the best at anything for a win. I''m an Independent, and if the sd cheat Obama out of his nom, I will NOT reward HRC and her campaign with a vote--THAT is worth enduring 4 more years of Republicans for.

Edwards backs Obama. ***, where''''s RowdyTexan when you need him. I''''m sure he has a reason why Hillary is still winning this thing. I don''''t hate Hillary actually, but for many reasons, she''''s just not the best choice in this election.

Rowdy is a woman. So far, Hillary has picked up 15 super delegates (though some don''t count as some of her old ones defected to Obama) and Obama has picked up 57 more. LOL

Any democrat who says they will vote for John McCain if Hillary/Barack do not get the nomination is just plain dumb. Why on earth would anyone do that? These 2 candidates have platforms that are very close to identical. Barack Obama has done NOTHING to hurt Hillary Clinton and has treated her with more respect than she him. Yet, many of her supporters are truly ugly about not voting for Obama. What is their reason? The only thing I can come up with is that they are closet racists. Proud enough to denounce him and ugly enough to be hateful about it...but too cowardly to say..."I won''t vote for him because he''s black" or maybe even ashamed to say it.
With the misery the Republicans have laid on this country the last 8 years for ANY...ANY...so called Democrat to say they will vote for a Republican if their candidate doesn''t get the nomination deserve exactly what they will get if successful. Its the stupidist thing I can think of for anyone to say.

If Clinton is the nominee, the republicans will turn her in to mush. Obama is the only candidate who can beat McCain. Hillary''''s superdelegates should be called Stupiddelegates! I, like many of my democrat friends, will be voting for a republican, if Clinton is the candidate.

They keep saying she''s ahead to keep her supporters thinking she can win. Most of them don''t bother to actually check out her claims. You know...it''s sniper fire.

For all the clinton supporters, if you belong to the Dem Party, you say will NOT vote Obama in the GE. Don%u2019t call yourselves Dems since that party is inclusive with all types of people - it is the "people''s party". Apparently you have not thought about the fact that Obama and HRC have essentially the same platform on policies, so it seems to me that you are voting on "personality" rather than issues. If that is the case, can you explain to me how you can support someone who "blatantly lied" to the public (Bosnia sniper fire, NAFTA, Irish Peace, etc.)? Is this what you teach your children (it is okay to lie); if you have no children, think about this fact when you do have them! The ISSUE is that you apparently do NOT ''care about the future of this country''. If you vote McSame, you will be voting for another Bush term which will benefit the very wealthy of this country (the clintons are included in this category), we will remain in Iraq (many more young Americans will die), our economy is in the toilet (McSame plans to continue the Bush tax cuts for the rich), our environment is in crisis (check McSame''s voting record and check Obama''s "green jobs"), and the other serious issues for which our country is in peril. If your reasoning is that Obama is black, you are racist and nothing I have said will make any difference to you, so please change your voting registration to Pug because the wealthy and racist comprise the Pug Party.

Win at any cost! Play the race card! Damage my opponent to raise my chances in the future! All Clinton traits and makes me ashamed to my claim of being a long-time Clinton supporter. Never again! They are worse than the worst of those racist-low income white hard working americans for they know better, yet stooped to the lowest level of anyone in the whole of the US. They cannot and must NOT be forgiven, nor forgotten for this. Hope those New Yorkers will not only now see them for what they truly are, and remember to vote accordingly in 2012. Not a penny more will I, or my friends send to help them again, ever. FYI, I am a woman in that older age group that she claims to own in her pocket! Not!!

Rowdy uses Hillary math. Probaly doesn''t give any votes to Obama in Michigan. Gives a disproportinate share for Florida. And then doesn''t count the four caucus states that didn''t release popular vote totals (which, of course, Obama won). Keep trying, Hillary will not be the nominee. More states won + more delegates more votes = NOMINEE. It''s really that simple.

Bamg. Your right on the money brother. Been a double standard this whole race. Notice that no one brings up the multiple scandals and felon associates with which Hillary has made millions? Nothing about her husband''s pocketing millions from shady overseas interests. How about Hillary''s Chinese funding connection. But if you raise charity on a community board with a Professor that belonged to a questionable organiztion 40 years ago, your branded a terrorist. Obama has run his campaign with class. Funny that HRC supporters think the GOP would be so nice if she were the nominee.

The "only" tactic left for the clintons to campaign on was the "race card" and damned if they didn''t use it (despite that had it not been for the black community in the 90s, WJC would NEVER have been elected)! Together the clintons have LUSTED FOR THE POWER LEFT BEHIND IN THE 90s, that they decided (in tandem) to use RACE as their wedge and lo and behold it worked for the RACISTS in WVA and in all probablity, it will work for them in KY. If that is all they have left, better that they should simply leave the nomination to Obama who is ALL INCLUSIVE as opposed to the DIVISIVE clintons. Hopefully, since the world has now seen what they are truly made of - NO CHARACTER, GREED, POWER HUNGRY, LIARS - they will have NO PLACE to hide when this primary is finished on 3 June since Obama is our nominee! I AM THRILLED THE WORLD NOW KNOWS THE CLINTON AND CAN ONLY ASSOCIATE IT WITH ONE THING - RACISM! Boy what an achievement!

Imagine Obama said that hard working Americans, black people voted for him. Wont people will be saying that he is not fit to run for the office of the President because he is racist. Clinton said this, no press uproar. I think something is wrong.

And how exactly did you count the votes in Michigan and Florida? Did you also factor in the four caucus states that haven''t been included in the popular vote totals?....Didn''t think so. She should stay in the race, but Obama leads by ALL measures if it''s counted fairly.
