Nothing Wrong With Land Swap, Says McCain

(CBS)

From CBS News’ Andante Higgins:

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- John McCain responded to an article in the Washington Post today, which alleges that a land swap deal in Arizona that benefitted one of his contributors, saying he did nothing improper. “I worked for a long period of time with the mayors, with the environmental groups, and other interested individuals for a long period of time, including having town hall meetings,” McCain said, pointing reporters to editorials in a local Arizona paper which supported the legislation. “I am very proud of my record, I’m proud of the work we did in that land exchange, and I am proud of my environmental records.”

In 2005, McCain helped legislation pass that allows individuals to trade remote grassland and pine forest on Yavapai Ranch for federally owned property which is now ready for development, according to the Post. The deal has raised questions because huge profits were made as a result, and some ecosystems and habitats may have been affected as a result.

As the Democrats appear to be closing in on Barack Obama as their nominee, McCain said he’s set for the beginning of the general election. “Oh I'm ready,” he said. “I’m ready to take to the American people the challenges of the issues we face. Whether it be raising your taxes as Senator Obama wants to do, or something like capital gains where 100 million Americans have an investment or have the government make the decisions on healthcare or the family, or certainly issues such as national security.”

McCain should have been forced out after the Savings and Loan scandal. Just one the Keating Five continuing their unfinished work of looting America.

Ol John wants to be like Reagan who once suggested that clear cutting forests was good for the ecology, because without all those trees it would cut down on forest fires.

In my opinion, the only reason anyone would want to continue the misguided policies of Conservative Republicans, Bush and John McCain is because you want to:
1) Lose your job and house.
2) Pay more for gas.
3) Kill America''s sons and daughters in Iraq.
4) Destroy the human race and planet through global warming.
5) Vote for judges who hate the Constitution.
6) Give tax breaks to rich people.

Keep up the good work Republicans. You''re close to your goal of destroying everything that was good about America. Have fun losing in ''08. And if you win, and America loses, then you deserve everything you have wrought, and all America will surely pay for it, just as we paying for it now.

OBAMA is standing in front of the camera himself for 52 seconds explaining how
he will DISARM
the USA.

What we are talking about here IS NOT about politics and the differing
views concerning issues%u2026..this is about the potential literal destruction of
this country by our enemies and our inability to defend ourselves against those
attacks.

This is a very short (52 seconds) video by Barak Obama in his own words
about how he plans to destroy our defense capabilities if elected.

Delegates Selecting Obama%u2026.Mark My Words !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope those delegates know that their decision will be eternally remembered and
written in stone.
They will be killing their own futures, siding with a canidate that cannot be
elected and has split America wide open. Black vs White%u2026.
And when all Obamas chickens come home to roost (his associations & LIES) they
will look as un- American as him and his snotty unpatriotic wife.
