New Challenge Over Michigan Delegates

In the latest bid to get Michigan's delegates seated at the Democratic convention, the AP reports that a top Clinton supporter has filed a challenge to the DNC that would send 28 unpledged superdelegates and 128 pledged delegates to the convention in Denver.

DNC member Joel Ferguson's plan calls for delegates to be allocated based on the results of the Michigan Democratic primary, which Clinton won, although neither candidate campaigned in the state.

The proposal calls for pledged Michigan delegates to get half a vote, while superdelegates would get a full vote at the convention.

Earlier this month, the executive committee of the Democratic Party of Michigan officially declared that the state wouldn't hold a do-over primary, deciding that the idea was just "not practical."

The Obama campaign is still calling for Michigan and Florida delegates to be divided evenly between the two candidates.

The candidates themselves do not have the power or authority to disenfranchise voters.

The DNC Rules states that the superdelegates "shall" be delegates.

The DNC Rules states the penalty for violating the timing rule "shall" be a 50% reduction in the pledged delegates.

In short, Michigan and Florida should always have been awarded delegates. The DNC Rules Committee needs to repair the damage it has done.

With respect, I am,

Can you tell me what is the idea behind this nonsense!

The Obama campaign is still calling for Michigan and Florida delegates to be divided evenly between the two candidates.

The implication is that voters of Michigan and Florida are just things to be cut into half; one for you and one for him. This is another message telling:

Folks from Michigan and Florida, your votes are meaningless to us.

I find it hard to swallow from a guy who claims to bring CHANGE AND HOPE of a new kind of politics.

This NEW stuff is nothing short of disgusting. Obama is a scarecrow behind podium telling shameless lies and plays with emotions to accept that He is something different. In Pennsylvain election, he proves to people that He is merely a politician and worse. He has no guts to debate a lady,

People in Florida did not think thier votes would be counted, so many did not vote. Michigan voters had only one name on the ballot. Everyone knows this, but refuses to state it. The state dem parties are to blame, not the candidates. The DNC is a private organization under no obligation to any outside influance, including voters in Fl and Mi. If the people in those states dont get counted they have no one to blame but themselves for jumping the gun in violation of thier own party rules.

My parents live in Michigan and I do not believe that they were asked if the primary could be change to a different date. If your running for president you would think that you would at least show up a talk about what you believe in. Obama could care less about Michigan. I don''t know who the best person would be-but we need some one to stand up for the CITIZENS of the United States of America. I''m sick of this *** and everyone who is in office right now should be fired!

It was Obama who took his name off the original Michigan ballot. It was Obame who stood in the way of a Michigan re-vote. Obama keeps trying to manipulate the MI vote. Now he wants to split the MI. vote 50/50. Someone tell Obama that Only Obama Supporters would be stupid enough to buy into that crapola. I don''t know where this story comes from, but the Super Delegates have nothing to do with the individual states. We don''t lose Super Delegates or get any. Unbelievable negligence in Journalism!!!

To waylon70,

Florida has made a record turnouts on the election day. What do you mean by telling us the lie that many voters stay home and not vote. At least they vote more than any elections before.

Folks, the OBAMA fanatics spread many lies and phonies in the Internet to deceive the public. Go to FACTCHECK.org to find out their false claims and lies.

The fact is OBAMA is losing and losing big. He dares not to debate Hillary anymore and he is stalling and hopes his supporters do the tough work for him. He is a loser.

Voters in Florida and Michigan may send signatures to the media telling the party that their unwelcome decision is going to cost them 2 states in general election. I want to see justice be done to hold the party and its collaborates like OBAMA responsible for their outrageous decisions.

They must apologize to the people of Michigan and Florida for their arrogance and mistakes.

Hillary''s campaign is hot and Obama does not want to debate. America has fallen in love with the feisty Hillary and they are sick of Obama''s re-run speeches. He lacks substance and he''s getting stale and now he''s scared of debates. America loves the underdog and they love persistence. America loves Hillary in the debates and now they see that Obama can''t handle it. Time for Obama to write more speeches --- maybe something we haven''t heard before.

Clinton didn''t win the MI primary! What the h-- is the matter with you? Obama wasn''t even on the ballot in MI! Come on people, WORDS MATTER!

Don''t you understand that your integrity is disappearing among people with brains? This kind of inaccurate, misleading statement is the reason why. I no longer tune in to your "news'' either on TV or the web exaclty because of this. The only reason I read this article is because the Huffington Post directed me here.

Your careless writing is doing a diservice to your readers and to this election. Shame on you, you sully the integrity of all journalists.

Here we go again, she agrees to one set of rules then changes the entire game at her convenience. Whats to say she will not change all her wonderful promises to her blue collar base when she gets to the Whitehouse. Mrs Clinton says that she is more electable in a general election.I would like to make 3 points concerning this -
1. She is NOT more electable with independents and Republicans who cannot stand the Clintons and I can understand why)
2. Those Dems that support Obama have more money than the blue collar workers that seem to be her base in the Democrat party and we will just be waiting to send our checks to Mc Cain''s campaign if the super delegates choose Clinton.
3. I am a college educated woman and I definitely do NOT support the Clintons, and here is the reason why - They both lie (sorry "miss speak") at the drop of a pin.

If People had their name on the ballot and choose to remove it, that is not a wise move.

The major problem is the DNC Knew in Advance that the State governments of Florida and Michigan were holding elections early, they gave them the dates. The DNC should have thought about the voters then playing God and Power.

It is their fault the thing is messed up. They had plenty of time to adjust to it.

When the state put on elections at their cost, you pretty much go when they say. To Deny the voters their right is a crime against the DNC.
