Clinton Warns Voters Not To Throw Away Their Vote

(CBS)

From CBS News’ Fernando Suarez:

WEST CHESTER, PA. -- At an outdoor rally in a town one hour outside Philadelphia, Clinton painted a gloomy picture to voters of the current state of the nation including an ongoing war in Iraq, an increasingly ominous relationship with China and the sagging economy here at home. “"We have got to realize that our future really depends on who the next president is, this is not a throw away election, this is one of the most important elections we’ve ever faced.”

Clinton spoke to a crowd of about 400 supporters a day after Barak Obama drew a crowd of over 30,000 at his rally in Philadelphia. “Usually the best way to determine who can withstand the incredible pressures of a political campaign, which believe me when you get into the general election and when you get into the White House the stresses and pressures of the general election and the job are overwhelming,” said Clinton, “And we know that we’ve got to have a president ready on day one to take charge, to give us the right direction and to empower the people of America once again.”

With just four days left before the Pennsylvania primary, Clinton is canvassing the state, hosting five campaign events designed to keep the slim lead she currently holds over Obama here. Clinton once held a 20 point lead in Pennsylvania, which has now shrunk to single digits. Clinton is not taking anything for granted and asked voters to get involved in her campaign.

"I’m asking you to spend whatever time you can between now and when the polls close on Tuesday getting people out to vote, talking to your friends and neighbors,” Clinton said. “When people say they are undecided, talk to them about how you make tough decisions in any other part of your life."

But when asked if he could win she said, "yes, yes, yes!" Hmmm... throw-away election, kinda like the throw-away small states and caucus states and states with large populations of blacks as well as throw-away political activists. I am getting really tired of Hillary dismissing Obama and his supporters.

I have heard and read many comments by Hillary Clinton, but I have to say, this one burns me big time.

I was excited about her campaign when all this began. It was Hillary who threw away my vote with her miserable, pathetic campaign tactics.

I wouldn''t vote for her now under any circumstances, and I WILL be voting in PA next Tuesday.

OBAMA WILL NOT COOPERATE IN RELEASING 8 YEARS OF HIS STATE SENATE RECORDS
Judicial Watch: Obama %u2018intended to leave no paper trail%u2019

The president of a prominent watchdog group said Wednesday that he believes Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) %u201Cintended to leave no paper trail%u201D during his time in the Illinois Senate.

Judicial Watch, which has been seeking access to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton%u2019s (D-N.Y.) records from her time in the White House, argued Wednesday that the Illinois senator, who has criticized the former first lady for a lack of openness, has his own %u201Crecords problem.%u201D
%u201CThe more we learn about the Illinois Senator, the more obvious it becomes that he is anything but the ethically upright outsider he purports to be,%u201D said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch.
The group rose to prominence when it repeatedly took on former President Bill Clinton during his time in office. It also sought records from the Bush administration regarding Vice President *** Cheney%u2019s energy task force.
In a statement, Fitton noted that his group has sought access to Obama%u2019s records as a state senator and questioned whether the presidential candidate has been forthcoming with regard to what happened to those documents.
He said that %u201Cnobody knows where they are, if they exist at all%u201D and claimed that %u201CObama%u2019s story keeps changing.%u201D

OBAMA%u2019S NEW PASTOR COMPARES REV. WRIGHT TO JESUS -- CHICAGO %u2014 The new pastor of Barack Obama%u2019s church delivered a defiant defense of its retiring reverend Sunday, comparing media coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. to a modern-day lynching that resembles Jesus%u2019 death at the hands of the Romans. In a sunrise Easter sermon, Rev. Otis Moss III implied that his mentor, who has delivered sermons in which he likened the U.S. to the Ku Klux Klan and declared it damned for its %u201Cstate-sponsored terrorism,%u201D is facing the same challenges Jesus did.%u201DNo one should start a ministry with lynching, no one should end their ministry with lynching,%u201D Moss said. %u201CThe lynching was national news. The RNN, the Roman News Network, was reporting it and NPR, National Publican Radio had it on the radio. The Jerusalem Post and the Palestine Times all wanted exclusives, they searched out the young ministers, showed up unannounced at their houses, tried to talk with their families, called up their friends, wanted to get a quote on how do you feel about the lynching?%u201D he continued.

Hill''s day one comment means that she''s sure that she has all of the answers and will ram them down our throats whether we like it or not. I''d rather have a leader who will listen to others before deciding the best course; someone like Obama.

OBAMA: DIRTY POLITICIAN FROM THE START: Chicago Sun-Times%u2014A close examination of Obama%u2019s first campaign clouds the image he has cultivated throughout his political career: Obama, who runs on a message of giving a voice to the voiceless, first entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it. Alice Palmer, friend and mentor to Obama, served the district in the Illinois Senate for much of the 1990s. Decades earlier, she was a community organizer in the area when Obama was growing up in Hawaii. She risked her safe seat to run for Congress and touted Obama as a suitable successor. But when Palmer lost the congressional race, her supporters asked Obama to fold his campaign so she could easily retain her state Senate seat. Obama not only refused to step aside for the woman who was his friend and had recommended him for the seat, he filed challenges that nullified Palmer%u2019s hastily gathered nominating petitions, forcing her to withdraw. Had Palmer survived the petition challenge, Obama would have faced the daunting task of taking on an incumbent senator. %u201CHe wondered if we should knock everybody off the ballot. How would that look?%u201D said Ronald Davis, the paid Obama campaign consultant. Davis filed objections to all four of Obama%u2019s Democratic rivals at the candidate%u2019s behest. All other candidates were disposed of by Obama%u2019s challenges. He then went on to win the election.

I suppose I''m an anomaly in that I like both candidates for their virtues and despite their faults. However, I find continued sniping between Clinton and Obama supporters disheartening. I favor Obama as someone with a potential for greatness that comes once in a generation, but if Clinton were nominated, I would support her enthusiastically. Both are imperfect human beings, as we all are, but both would be excellent presidents. It''s important to remember that our allegiance cannot be to any individual candidate, but to the 300 million Americans whose future rides on the outcome of an election that will decide between a McCain view of health care, war and peace, social justice, and the environment, and a shared Obama/Clinton perspective that understands far better what it means to struggle with the problems of ordinary people. Finally, I would be dishonest if I did not state that I hope Hillary Clinton will soon withdraw. That is not because she is unqualified. Rather, she no longer has any realistic chance to become president, but she can still ruin Obama''s chances. Fred Moolten

The bias in the major media is "Abominable".

Fact: Population W. Chester = 17,861
Pop of Philly = 2,016,582

Mr Suarzez is biasing his article by making it look like she had a very poor turn out

Please, lets help keep these politically motivated reporters honest by pointing out bias. They should report the news not influence it!

Start reading the NY Times, MSNBC, CBS etc. etc... and point out there bias. Enough is enough.

If we do not become as vocal as these "God *** America" Obama followers we will be stuck with this insurance supporting (see who his major campaign funding sources are), big pharmaceutical supporting, all talk, cry baby, bird flipping imposter at one of the most critical times in US history.

HOW OBAMA HAS USED GEORGE BUSH/KARL ROVE TACTICS TO OBTAIN OVER $62,000,000 FOR HIS CAMPAIGN, SO FAR!:
The Washington Post -- April 11,2008 -- Obama gets plenty of money from big donors too: "Sen. Barack Obama credits his presidential campaign with creating a ''parallel public financing system'' built on a wave of modest donations from homemakers and high school teachers. ... But those with wealth and power also have played a critical role in creating Obama''s record-breaking fundraising machine, and their generosity has earned them a prominent voice in shaping his campaign. Seventy-nine ''bundlers,'' five of them billionaires, have tapped their personal networks to raise at least $200,000 each. ... Donors who have given more than $200 account for about half of Obama''s total haul, which stands at nearly $240 million. ... The bundler list also sheds light on those who might seek to influence an Obama White House. They have helped the campaign recruit more than 27,000 donors to write checks for $2,300, the maximum allowed. Donors who have given more than $200 account for about half of Obama''s total haul, which stands at nearly $240 million. The use of bundlers was perfected by George W. Bush, who in 2000 and 2004 set some fundraising records that Obama has shattered.

Kenbomc: Yeah, all that peace and prosperity in the Clinton years was a drag. I''d much rather take my chances on an inexperienced, deceptive, racist freshman Senator from Illinois. After all, he says he can "change" things, and that''s enough for me, that''s enough for me, that''s enough for me, that''s enough for me . . . . SORRY, MY CHIP GOT STUCK.

You''re right -it is scary times. Now HRC wants to continue the Bush and Clinton 27 year reign on this country for another 8 years. Then there''s McSame wanting 8 more years of Bush''s policies. Thank god we all have Obama as a choice.

Obama had a crowd of 30,000 supporters. The kids were out of school and really enjoyed the rock music and pizza!

However the polls polling registered democrats in Pennsylvania still show Clinton with a two digit lead!

It''s hilarious how Obama will spin crowds in his favor who are mainly kids that can''t vote.

eznelson: Hitler drew even larger crowds. His followers were just as unwilling as those of Obama, to assimilate any facts not consistent with their image of their messiah. Yes, we live in scary times.
