McCain, Clinton Steal The Show On Capitol Hill

General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker returned to Capitol Hill this morning to make the case that despite recent violence in Iraq, political progress and economic progress are on the rise as a result of the troop surge.

But all eyes - and camera lenses - in the packed Armed Services Committee room were on Sens. John McCain and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Both presidential candidates took time away from the campaign trail to attend the hearing. Sen. Barack Obama is not on the committee, but will hear from Petraeus and Crocker later this afternoon at a Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. It's a rare opportunity for voters to see the candidates in action, talking war and asking tough questions.

As the most powerful Republican on the committee, McCain had a slight edge over Clinton. It took three hours before Clinton even said a word, while McCain was able to make an opening statement and was the first Republican to ask the general and ambassador how they plan to stop violence in Iraq and whether they trust Shiite cleric Moqtada al Sadr's ceasefire.

The candidates did have to compete at times with the anti-war group Code Pink. The Code Pink group painted their faces white and wore black hijabs pinned with signs that read "surge of sorrow" and another calling for a "peace surge." One woman held a fake baby made up of white cloth with red paint on it to look like blood.

One protester was escorted from the hearing by Capitol Police after he interrupted McCain, shouting "There's no military solution!" over and over.

When Clinton finally took her turn, the protesters applauded her call that any long-term security agreement worked out with the Iraqi government should be passed by the U.S. Congress as well.

The rest of the senators each had their moment to question Petraeus and Crocker, but most were ignored by the cameras and even the protesters. Journalists turned to their laptops and blackberries to sort through e-mails. And when both of the presidential candidates left early, the crowds thinned out to look like any other congressional hearing on any given day.

Reliable sources say that on April 15th at exactly 12:00pm Mike Huckabee''s web site and John McCain''s web site will merge into one. This will be the official announcement that John McCain and Mike Huckabee are running on the same Republican ticket as President and Vice President of America.

The Gold star in the center of Mike Huckabee''s countdown timer is the same star John McCain uses. It is said McCain''s name will scroll to the top of the star and Huckabee''s name below the star to form the alliance.

Sources say McCain''s admiration of Huckabee''s Honor and Integrity sold him on the fact to choose Mike as his running mate. In the military, John McCain''s is the military, and Honor and Integrity are the most desireable character traits one can achieve.

In particular John McCain was impressed of Mike Huckabee honor and integrity during the primaries. Back in late December McCain and Huckabee formed an alliance against Romney to force him out of the race. McCain has lauded Huckabee as "a man of integrity, honesty, and decency." And Huckabee has praised McCain as "a true, honest-to-God American hero."

April 15th was choosen to symbolize the new alliance between McCain and Huckabee of taking on the Financial Recession which parallels to the Financial Tax due date in America.

Mike Huckabee is scheduled to be in NY city during this announcement on April 15th to again symbolize the Financial Recession and Wall Street Financial activity.

My way or the highway is the rule we have been living under for almost 8 years. You who would vote for Mccain before a black man, please reconsider. You who would vote for MCain before a woman, please reconsider. But please vote.

The Hillary''s speech at the Armed Services Committee constitutes the most courageus and clear minded stance on that aberrant freak of the Bush administration that is the Iraq''s war. More than 4,000 young precious americans and more than one million iraqui''s deaths just to get the Iraq''s oil.
No matter what the apologists of the war can say to justify it. This is the real truth.
