Is "Saturday Night" Clinton's Favorite Time Of The Week?

The legend of the "3 a.m. phone call" lived on over the weekend, as "Saturday Night Live" began its newest episode with a parody featuring an in-over-his-head President Obama soliciting late-night advice from Hillary Clinton on how to handle a simmering international crisis.

The skit is raising questions about whether the venerable institution that has produced decades of sharp political parody has become a cheerleader for the Clinton campaign. In the three episodes that have aired since the end of the television writers' strike, "SNL" has run a string of apparently pro-Clinton segments, including an endorsement from Tina Fey, a parody on perceived pro-Obama media bias and a self-deprecating appearance by Clinton herself, which may have given her a bump going into Ohio and Texas.

Political reporters were among those who most lamented the writers' strike, which continued through the early stages of the campaign. Without the poignant jabs of late-night comedians, the daily political discourse seemed to be lacking an important element.

How would Letterman have reacted to the now famous tears Hillary Clinton shed while opening up about the pressures of the campaign. What would Jon Stewart have said about Mike Huckabee's bizarre pre-Iowa caucus press conference, in which he announced with great fanfare that he would backtrack on his decision to air a negative advertisement against Mitt Romney before proceeding to show it to the assembled press anyway?

Time and again, parody has inspired what becomes conventional wisdom, and what happens on "Saturday Night" can help set the tone for the week ahead.

They should do a parody of Hitlery''s trips to Ireland and Kosovo. They would not even have to spoof--just show actual footage for the laughs and they''d get Sinbad for Free!! LOL

WHAT''''S THAT? HITLERY GOT DONATIONS FROM REZKO DEFENDANTS AND OBAMA ACTUALLY GOT NONE? SAY IT ISN''''T SO!!!! LMAO

The vetting of the Clinton''''s is just beginning. This was a risky strategy by the Clinton''''s in the first place, because the boomerang effect will expose much more of their shenanigans to the American people....

...Since the name of Chicago defendant Antoin ''''Tony'''' Rezko has come up in national debate, it seems fair to look at donations from other defendants in Chicago''''s "Operation Board Games."

Of the other five defendants, three have donated to the Clintons or to Clinton supporters, three have donated mostly to Republicans, and at least two have donated to Obama''''s political opponents. None have donated to Obama."

nn 2 days since she endorsed McCain over Obama, who''''s qualifications she derided, leading Left pundits let her HAVE it: Olberman, Huffington, Richard Wolf and Dana Millbank, Randi Rhodes, Ed Schultz, Rachael Maddow, Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller... And no prominent pundit or Democratic Party leader has dared defend Hillary''''s loathsome remarks.

Hillary got such a bump from Ohio that even I took a second look at her: I said, "Man, that woman is a fighter."

Then she encouraged Americans to elect Republican McCain over our Democratic front runner. Her remark was carefully calculated, and she repeated it four times in four venues.

"I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

Here''''s video of all four repetitions so you can get the feel of this for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMVOT-IH8

So the governor of New York is involved in a prostitution ring. Maybe a good skit for SNL would have a senator from New York earning money for her campaign working as a call girl for the governor.

How about a parody of SNL and Tina Fey fawning over Senator Clinton on Jon Stewart''s program - now that might be funny. SNL and Lorne Michaels haven''t been relevant (or funny) for 20 years or so...Can anyone imagine Eddy Murphy or John Belushi or Bill Murray sucking up to a candidate for President on SNL back in the day?

For those of you bloggers who continually use a reference to Hitler when speaking of Clinton, I find it morally offensive and without any form of respect for those of us (or those close to us) who have ourselves lived through that terrible time, no matter what candidate I am for. You or those close to you probably were not involved and you should be ashamed to invoke something so reprehensible when referring to anyone - anyone at all. Do your history and have some form of decency.

Yes, please don''t call Hillary Hitler. It is disrespectful to her as well as to all the Jews who suffered at the Nazi''s hands. There is not similarity at all, and you just make yourself look moronic.

Yeah I thought SNL was a shill for Shillery. she is so hip, just like SNL. Isn''t that a show for "young" people? In 1978 it was. Maybe Chelsea can appear on it and appeal to those "young" people, they like to watch SNL don''t they (isn''t that cute naming your daughter after the place where you fornicated and conceived her, how cute)

The Hitler referance about Hillary is directly related to the Hitler referance about Bush. You liberals started this BS not stop crying over it. Perhaps if we all grew up and stopped calling each other names.... who am I kidding.

SharnCedar, as I said before, some of us lived through the Hitler period in Germany, and unless you did the same I would ask you to step off of your soapbox and shut your mouth b/c you have no IDEA how bad things were. I am not saying that Hitler''s actions were WORSE than any other genocide in the world, I am saying that comparing a monster like that to someone like Clinton has no merit, is disrespectul, contemptious and just plain disgusting. People like you make me ashamed of America.

Hillary is tried and tested in over 80 countries. As the wife of a visiting US President she was entitled to and negotiated her way through incalculable amounts of complimentary tea and cookies. Come to think of it, this also means that Laura Bush is tried and tested to be President.
Hillary has also had numerous experiences of answering the white house phone at 3am but the caller always said CAN I SPEAK TO YOUR HUSBAND PLEASE !!

Hillary has committed election felonies in the past, yet escaped going to jail via cover ups! The proof is in the pudding. Look at the evidence for yourself.
Can someone please tell me what qualifications does Hillary Clinton have? Where did she get all of this so called experience? By being the first lady? I don%u2019t ever recall her running a country. The only thing I know from history that she has experience in, is being a Liar. Has everyone forgotten what Hillary and Bill did to Stan Lee and Peter Paul back in 1999? How soon we forget just how sleazy that are. Well here''s the documentation for those what are interested in knowing the REAL TRUTH about how vicious they can be. Should they be above the law? She is a criminal and she should be behind bars, but I guess she can thank those who helped cover up her dirty deeds that she''s not. Look at the Facts for yourself and refresh your memory. Is this who you really want for president? Someone who will stop at nothing even if it means discrediting innocent people to protect herself? Well I don''t know about you, but I deserve better from my New Commander in Chief.

If Hillary is so good in foreign polices, why on earth is there a 3 am horrifying call to her anyways?

She should have consulted Obama before the making of the video and he would have told her that foreign policy is about prevention. Prevention is the best medicine.

No more 3 am tears, Hillary.

Sometimes people see similarities among two persons.

I think Hillary is brain-dead. Why? Because she can''t tell the difference between a dictator (e.g. Kim Jong-il of North Korea) and a president of United States.

Kim Jong-il is as clever as Hillary, is experienced (if not more than Hillary) in handling domestic and foreign affairs, and has %u201Caudacity of audacity%u201D like Hillary. In fact, Hillary portraits herself exactly a Jong-il (if not more ill). So, Hillary, what''s the ill in you is exactly what''s the ill in Jong-ill.

What a dictator (Jong-ill or Hillary-ill) lacks to become the president of United States is not experience, capability, or "audacity of audacity"; it is virtue, the moral courage!

It is man who makes experience great, not experience that makes man great.

"To lead people, walk beside them...
As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence.
The next best, the people honor and praise.
The next, the people fear;
and the next, the people hate..."

A dictator is he who people fear; Hillary is she who people "hate".

"Smart people instinctively understand the dangers of entrusting our future to self-serving leaders who use our institutions, whether in the corporate or social sectors, to advance their own interests."

The past two weeks SNL found me ROTFL. It was very funny, to hear this simple skit. I thought it was clever the way the Obama character asked about the heat, and for advice. Laughter is a good medicine. Its time to laugh America. Go Hillary!

Bear with me a moment here... Did you catch Hillary Clinton''s statement today? She stated her campaign has, indeed, been behind the viral email rumors spread attacking Sneator Obama''s patriotism, religion, and ethnicity. We believe he is stealth candidate for Al Qaeda who is trying to put a terrorist in the White House. These allegations must be true, she said, after all, his middle name is Hussein...

As an Illinois lawmaker, Barack Obama was one of eight state officials consulted on appointments to a state board which later became involved in what prosecutors describe as a fraud scheme, the Associated Press reports today. That information was contained in a June 2003 memo from a national Democratic official introduced this morning as evidence at the trial of Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a Chicago-area developer and political operative facing corruption charges Obama stated at the debate in South Carolina that he only ever at any contact with Rezko when he worked 4-5 hours for a church in a dispute with Rezko. Rezko is under inditement for extorsion and political favor selling now we find out that Obama was on the very board that Rezko was selling favors for.Obama recieved money from people who had to pay money to Obamas campaign for US senate to get contracts and loans

Senator Obama is kicking *** in number of wins, delegates and popular votes. He has won 28 states to Clinton''''s 17. And he got more delegates in three of her wins than she did. Thats more than twice as many wins. She has been attacking him with lies since he won Iowa! He answers her attacks with truth. He has maintained his integrity, she just goes lower and lower! He is winning, she is losing. He will bring honor, intelligence and judgment to the White House.

we still have to wonder...if the jokes and skits would tickle you as much if they made fun of Hilary and made her look incompetent. Like, say the 3 am call comes in but she does not hear it--cause she''s too busy trying to break up a knock down drag out fight between 5 or 6 of her campaign staff.....

At what point does SNL go from entertainment to Hilary camp shill status? We suspect the skin would be quite thin if the shoe was on the other foot.

SNL is a dinosaur--Young people watch John Stewart and Stephen Colbert for their laughs. People my age (baby boomers) are too tired to stay late and up and watch SNL. The fact that Hillary Clinton still relates to the show is reinforcement that the show is gotten moldy with age.

The thought the spots were very funny and cleverly presented. But, SNL needs to serve equal time to the %u201Cother side%u201D of the electorate. I would like to see a parody something like maybe top Whitehouse aids attempting to wake a sleeping President John McCain at 3:00pm in the afternoon!

It''s very obvious that SNL endorses Hillary. I think they''ve gone too far, as Hillary has also. But Barack is showing that he has the discipline and the patience needed to be president. He doesn''t stoop down to her level. If the situation were reversed, and Hillary was the butt of the SNL jokes, she would be wining all over the place. She loves to dish-it-out, but she is not woman enough to take it. All this talk about her being a "fighter," is full of sh--! She''s a spoiled brat who HAS to get her way! Initially, she WAS my choice. But, now, I have seen the light! The Obama Light!!!
