William F. Buckley, Jr., was a giant of American conservatism, a writer and debater and round-the-world sailor who built a movement felt from City Halls to the White House.

He died today at the age of 82.

by petersemkiw February 27, 2008 11:56 PM EST: William Buckley''s wit and keen intellect, his entertaining and intellectual interviewing style, and his great political insights and writings,as well as his TV show,Firing Line, are among the many things he will be remembered for. He was one of the great political thinkers of our times and will be greatly missed.
