Kucinich: "I Hope That You're Going To Talk About More Than A Tongue Stud."

This morning, Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich and his wife, Elizabeth, appeared on the CBS "Early Show." And the Ohio Representative seemed none too happy when anchor Hannah Storm brought up his wife's age, beauty, and jewelry. Here's a portion of the transcript:

Hannah Storm: You have a core group of supporters for your political views, but a lot of people [are] talking about your wife and the fact that she's over three decades younger and she statuesque and beautiful and has a pierced tongue. What do you make of the attention on her?

Dennis Kucinich: Well, the most important thing I would tell you, Hannah, as a professional, is it's important not to trivialize a woman who has worked on international humanitarian matters, you know, helping people in Africa get access to energy and to housing and education, helping poor people and children in India, working with a group connected with Mother Teresa, working with the Mission To Seafarers in London. Here's a woman of great accomplishment with a Master's degree in international conflict resolution, and I hope that you're going to talk about more than a tongue stud.

After Storm asked Elizabeth Kucinich what she would bring to the White House, the "Early Show" anchor returned to the topic.

Hannah Storm: I know that your husband doesn't want to focus on your tongue ring, but you do have one, correct?

Elizabeth Kucinich: I do.

Hannah Storm: And would you remove it if you became first lady or leave it in?

Elizabeth Kucinich: It's part of me now. It's been there ten years, so --

Hannah Storm: Can we see it?

Elizabeth Kucinich: No, you can't. Sorry.

Dennis Kucinich: That's my privilege.

Check out the video for the full effect. It's not quite as tense as it seems when you read it – during that last exchange, it's worth noting, all three are laughing.

Still, things stayed interesting until the end. After Elizabeth Kucinich pointed out that Dennis is "polling fourth now" and Dennis added, "when I get to third place, everything changes," Storm responded: "When you get to third place, or you meet with [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad, we'll have you back."

To which Dennis Kucinich responded, one finger in the air: "You know, remember you said that."

Hannah Storm has proven once more that the real bimbo erruption in America can be found among the insipid, chattering little bits of fluff who''ve had their molars yanked mewing out what passes for news in the mainstream media.

If they can''t talk about fashion they are lost.

Only a Ustasha relative of Ante Pavelic would marry someone who isn''t even an American and still thinks and acts like a brain dead hippy.

Married to a brain dead Fascist.

Hope pierced tongues get along well with toupees and don''t remove ''em.

Tee Hee.

A pierced tongue and no brain - sounds just about right for the Ustasha candidate.

A coward who endorses mass murderers.

When you get beyond Dennis, there ain''t much there. Edwards sounds good, except that he is a "me too" guy on health care, and seems inclined to be only a less aggressive warmonger. Dennis is the real deal. It''s time for a first lady with a tongue stud.

@USProphet: voting for Ron Paul doesn''t really make sense if you''re female or gay, considering that the so-called libertarian believes that women don''t have a right to control their own bodies and has said that he would''ve voted for the Defense of Marriage Act if he''d had the opportunity.

If you you oppose the war in Iraq and believe in liberty for everyone (not just straight men), Kucinich is the only choice.

Good for this man--it is ridiculous what is trying to pass for journalism these days. I think he really gave a roundhouse zinger to her--and she is lucky to interview a person he kept their demeanor. I mean, imagine if they countered with --c''mon Hannah, why talk about my wife''s tongue stud--when everyone would be more interested in that peircing we heard you have on your puzzzy lip?

gossip, gossip and more gossip! Dennis and his wife have my vote come time for the primaries. He is a real American and so is she, nevermind the fact she comes from Great Brittain. Good for you guys for giving Ms. Storm a sensible response...at least they don''t gossip about stupid things.

This was an abhorrent interview. Hannah Storm might be one of the most unprofessional, trifling journalists out there (and that''s saying a lot). Mr. Kucinich proved just how trifling he is by telling her that his wife''s tongue stud was not really news, but she went ahead and pursued the salacious, gossipy information instead. Disgusting. And no Brian, it was in fact as tense as yu think when you see the video. Those poor people. I mean really...she ASKED TO SEE HER TONGUE RING!

Except for his globalist leanings, and his socialist beliefs about what the role of government should be, I like his wife. Vote for a REAL AMERICAN--Ron Paul.
