October 10th is a HUGE news day for women! Today, the first female to command the ISS (International Space Station) successfully lifted off aboard Expedition 16.- Her name: Commander Peggy Whitson. I sincerely do not see how this can be overlooked.
And, within a few days Col.Pamela A. Melroy will be in command of the shuttle Discovery, on NASA''s mission STS 120.
2 women commanders in space...and the first one successfully lifting off on October 10th -is a huge news day to me-
