As They Say In Politics: No Comment
Notice anything missing from Katie's post on Al Gore?
Early this morning, we had about 170 comments there. (Thanks, Drudge.) But around 8:30 we started experiencing some technical glitches all over CBSNews.com. The system went down for a few hours while our crack team of computer mechanics put the web page up on cement blocks and looked under the hood. In the process, a lot of comments all over the web site went pfffffft (that's a technical term.)
Our apologies for the disruption. Everything is now back to normal. Feel free to flame away.

Item first: I hope the 170 posts was not the cause of the system outage. If that is the case, you are going to need more than cement blocks to fix the problem.
Item second: I've been posting here for a couple of weeks now, and I have to tell you that 170 posts for this part of the site is quite an accomplishment. I posted to an article on napkins (read it, what a fun topic!). Mine was the ONLY post. CBS should try to conjure up a way to attract and retain bloggers.
The way to attract and retain bloggers, let alone viewers, is to tell the truth and stop pushing your liberal agenda with all the contrived sincerity of an aluminum siding saleswoman.
Somewhere in the world is a sincere aluminum siding saleswoman who is taking offense at this comment.
There is nothing wrong with a good debate on a hot topic, but a point can be made without personal attack.
