(CBS News) President Obama wants to wish you a very happy birthday - and as his gift to you, he'll let you donate a portion of your gift money to his reelection campaign.

A blog post on the Obama/Biden 2012 website on Friday announced the campaign's newest fundraising ploy - the "Obama Event Registry," which asks anyone with an upcoming birthday, wedding, or anniversary to "support the President on your big day" by asking for donation money "in lieu of a gift."

"Let your friends know how important this election is to you," the post reads. "Instead of another gift card you'll forget to use, ask your friends and family for something that will go a little further: a donation for Obama for America."

Replete with a section that allows anyone interested to create actual accounts for their registry, the site reasons, "it's a gift that we can all appreciate--and goes a lot further than a gravy bowl."

Sure, politicizing one of the happiest days in a young couples life? What's the big deal? And you're flat-out lying if you don't think the media would be absolutely KILLING Romney if he'd come up with this; that can't even be subject to debate.

Why is this an issue? So what? How is this any different from people asking that donations be made in lieu of flowers at a funeral? How is it different from naming a star after somebody rather than buying them an MP3 player? My birthday is in November after the election or I'd do this. It's a great cause and a great idea. If Romney had thought of it, the GOP would be bragging about how innovative he is.

Hummm, come to think of it, this Second half of the year of 2012, our First Grand-Son's B-day, his Elder sister's (our First Grand-Daughter's) B-day, their mom's (our Daughter-in-Law's) B-day, my better-half's and my wedding-anniversary all coming up before the US President's election day. Now the incumbent President of the US of A "asks anyone with an upcoming birthday, wedding, or anniversary to "support the President on your big day" by asking for donation money "in lieu of a gift."" Begs me to ask the question of "Why" - why in the world should I support Mr. Obama at this juncture especially after more than 3 and half years while he's in the US President's office, at the best, he only has done a So-So average job for America. "A donation for Obama for America"? What an absurd audacity?! Talk to my right-hand's index finger and what do you know - it's waving left and right which means "Hell No"!

The first email I received from Obama; he was askingme to send $3 to enter a lottery drawing for the chance to have dinner with him.

The second email was asking for $3 for the chance to have lunch with him.

The third email came from Michelle asing or a donation to enter yet another lottery; this time to help the President celebrate his birthday.

Last week; on TV; I heard some ploy to get money from chidren.

Basically; it wanted the kid to empty their piggy banks for the chance to have lunch with Obama.

They seem to forget that the kids piggy banks are already empty; thanks to them; and will continue to be empty for generations to come.

Now; they want us to give the money we would otherwise spend on gifts to him.

Obama and Michelle spend most of their days basking in the glow of their advisors and aides who tell them 24/7 what wonderful people they are and how much good they are doing for the US.

They have such high opinions of themselves, they actually believe all these lies.!

This should come as no surprise, because they believe their own lies as well.

Obama and Michelle have no shame.

I guess their next solicitation will be to go to a blood bank that pays for donations; and ask you to send them the proceeds from that.

AND; I agree with every word One American has to say about this.!!!

Sincerley,
