President Obama's Schedule Today (12/17/10)
In the morning, President Obama will meet with senior advisers and will then meet with Secretary of the Treasury Geithner in the Oval Office.
In the afternoon, the president will meet with approximately a dozen leaders from the country's largest labor organizations to discuss strengthening our economy, spurring growth, and creating good jobs for the American people, along with other issues of importance to working Americans. Secretary Solis will join the president and the labor leaders at the meeting.
Also this afternoon, Mr. Obama will sign his tax cut deal with Republicans into law.

Later, the president and the First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver remarks and the president will sign into law the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 at Harriet Tubman Elementary School in Washington.
Later, Mr. Obama will meet with senior advisers in the Oval Office. In the afternoon, the president will welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to Washington, to honor their second consecutive NBA championship. At the event, Lakers coaches and staff will participate in a service project at a Washington D.C. Boys and Girls Club.
Later in the afternoon, the president will meet with U.N. Ambassadors in the Cabinet Room. The president and the vice president will then meet with Secretary Gates in the Oval Office.
In the evening, Mr. Obama will deliver remarks at the Diplomatic Corps Holiday Reception at the State Department.

In the afternoon, the president and the vice president will meet for lunch in the Private Dining Room. Later, they will receive the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. The president will also meet with Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in the Oval Office.
Later, the first family will attend the National Christmas Tree Lighting on the Ellipse.

In North Carolina, Mr. Obama will visit Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem. While at the college, the president will tour two biotech classrooms and then deliver remarks on the economy to students, faculty, and local business leaders. He then will return to Washington.
