Yolo County Resident Tests Positive For Zika Virus

YOLO COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A person in Yolo County who returned from a trip abroad has tested positive for the Zika virus, health officials said on Wednesday.

According to CBS Sacramento, the patient is reportedly doing fine and the case is described as mild.

While 80 percent of people who get the virus don't show symptoms, this patient started to feel it after traveling to a country where the disease is active.

"They came down after experiencing symptoms, a fever a rash after traveling to one of those countries and decided to seek medical help and that's when it was discovered," said Kristin Weivoda.
