Yoshi's SF New Owners Reportedly Rebranding, Renaming Venue
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF)— San Francisco jazz venue and sushi restaurant Yoshi's has been sold. The San Francisco location opened in the Fillmore in 2007 as an extension of the popular Oakland spot.
In 2012 the club's owners ran into some financial difficulty and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
SF Station is now reporting that the San Francisco club will be sold to the Fillmore Live Entertainment Group and will undergo a name change as part of its rebranding. The site also says the new owners are planning a new menu and will apparently branch out to feature a more eclectic range of music.
Yoshi's was founded in 1972 in Berkeley. Its East Bay location in Jack London Square will stay the same and remain under the same ownership.
