Rockslide Closes Highway 140 Entrance To Yosemite, Other Routes Open

YOSEMITE NAT'L PARK (CBS SF) – The Highway 140 entrance to Yosemite National Park is closed until further notice, following a rockslide.

According to park officials, the slide occurred on Highway 140 near the Arch Rock Entrance Station around 5:45 a.m. There were no reports of injuries.

Park officials said the slide took place in the area of the Dog Rock Fire, which took place in October of 2014. The road is closed from the park boundary in El Portal to the Highway 140 / 120 junction in the park.

Yosemite visitors can still enter the park from Highway 120 to the north or Highway 41 from the south. Chain restrictions are in effect on these highways and within Yosemite Valley.
