Cespedes Stuns Angels Again With Another Improbable Throw From Outfield
LOS ANGELES (CBS SF)- Less than 24 hours after turning a bungled play in the left field corner into a physics-defying strike that shot down a Los Angeles Angels base runner and got the sports world buzzing, A's Outfielder Yoenis Cespedes did it again Wednesday night.
During the sixth inning of Wednesday's game in Los Angeles, Angels slugger Albert Pujols tried to reach third after Cespedes badly misplayed a bouncing ball in the corner. Only a near-perfect strike would get him and Cespedes delivered. Here's the play:
The play was slightly less spectacular than Tuesday's throw, which traveled more than 300 feet on the fly for an out at home plate to keep that game tied. KPIX 5 tried to break down the science behind that play after the game:
